Hi there

I’m Iain Hepburn, digital editor at the Daily Record. We have been in touch with GossipCop and MTV following their comments on this story.

Had they bothered to approach us before running their ‘dismissal’, we would happily have provided confirmation of the veracity of the story.

We have done so to them today with an audio clip of the interview proving directly that not only was the interview not a fabrication, that it was accurate.

Likewise, had this website also bothered to get in touch with us, rather than taking the word of a third party, we could have done so.

I look forward to your retraction of your claims and apology, and trust you will give it the same prominence that you gave displayed the original, inaccurate piece.
