Rumors and gossip have followed the “Twilight Saga” ever since the first film created an uproar at the box office a year and a half ago. From the personal relationship between the stars to who will direct which sequel, it’s been a non-stop job for Summit Entertainment to put out one fire after another. That continued today.
This morning Canadian gossip site Lainey Gossip reported that reshoots of two key scenes for the forthcoming “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” were occurring in Vancouver next week. The pundit also floated that because of “creative differences” with the studio director David Slade wouldn’t oversee the reshoots and that former helmers Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”) and Chris Weitz (“New Moon”) could step in instead. Because the outlet is based in the city and has been correct on a number stories regarding the franchise before, many media took the report with a hint of credibility which was a mistake.
HitFix has learned that Slade, who is currently overseeing the film’s score in London, would be headed to Vancouver himself to film what are obvstentively pick up shots, not reshot scenes. Pick up shots are cut into already completed scenes and can be necessary because of anything from bad lighting, a faulty print or a missing expression or line that was determined in editing. Reshoots insinuate a completely new scene being inserted into a picture.
Additionally, a Summit spokesperson told HitFix that the shoot has been planned for months, the picture is not in “trouble” and, in fact, the studio thinks it may be the best of the three so far. Considering, this writer has heard praise for “Eclipse’s” script, that’s easy to believe. The spokesperson also noted that reshoot timing is three days or less, is not a lot of material and furthermore, they do not involve the meadow scene or any action scenes whatsoever.
Fans will be able to decide their opinion on Slade’s vision for “Eclipse” when the film opens nationwide on June 30.

From Gossip Cop:
A report widely disseminated earlier today made big waves by claiming that “key scenes” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse need to be reshot in Vancouver, and speculated that the development indicated production on the June release was troubled.
Gossip Cop looked into it, and we have the exclusive answers.
First, regarding the implication that these reshoots were unexpected, an authorized rep for the studio tells Gossip Cop, “The reshoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films.”
Let Gossip Cop settle some other false rumors.
Contrary to today’s inaccurate speculation, “creative differences” have not led Summit to consider bringing in another director for the reshoots.
David Slade is 100% directing them, like he did the entire movie, and the studio is “very happy” with his direction of the film, which internally is believed to be the best of the series.
As for the timing, speculation that there will be three rushed days of 18-hour shoots is incorrect. The Summit rep tells Gossip Cop that it’s a two-and-a-half to three-day shoot, and that “very little” actually has to be reshot.
But the biggest misconception concerned the specific scenes alleged to be those in need of a reshoot. The rep confirms to Gossip Cop, “None of the meadow or action scenes are being reshot.”
Asked to comment on today’s alarmist rumors, the authorized rep for the studio tells Gossip Cop, “Reports much like the one earlier today are ploys to drive traffic without any merit and without any support from the studio on what is actually going on or true.”
Gossip Cop will continue to bring accurate “Eclipse” production news before the film’s June theatrical release.
Summary of cute/funny fan encounter with Rob in Budapest: two girls saw Rob walking down the street with his bodyguards so they went up to him with a “hi Rob!” and the girl says that when he looked at her she forgot everything she knew in English and all she could get out was “autograph and photos” Rob smiled and said “sure”. So the girl’s friend got out her Twilight dvd (which they had with them in case they ran into him while he was here) Rob laughed when he saw it and said “what the hell?” Then there’s a whole long bit where the girl couldn’t find her pen, and during this time Rob attempted to pronounce the Hungarian word for Twilight (Alkonyat). The girl told her friend to hold the dvd (fogd már meg!) and Rob also tried to repeat this too . When the girl still couldn’t find her pen, Rob reached into his jacket and took out his own pen, only to find that it had run out, so he took out another one but that one didn’t work either (lol) so he tried to carve the autograph onto the paper and ended up ripping it. The girl finally managed to find her pen and gave it to him. Rob took it between his teeth to take the lid off and signed the girls’ dvds. Then when they were going to take a photo, Rob leaned down and looked at the girl’s shoes, grinned and said “we have the same shoes” and they both laughed. Both the girl and her friend took photos with him, thanked him, he said to them “nice to see you” then repeated “see you” again to which the girls said bye and he left.

Here’s a video from Belgium’s Le Journal RTL TVI in which they discuss Robert Pattinson, Eclipse, Remember Me and Bel Ami. There’s also a short clip of an interview with Rob. See the translation of the video below.

Let’s talk about cinema and the 1st images from Eclipse, a successful international saga.
In this new sequel , vampires and werewolves must unite their forces to protect Bella from a terrible menace. Edward, the vampire must cooperate unwillingly with Jacob , the werewolf. As for Bella, she doesn’t know anymore who she loves. Since 2008, when the first film was released , the Twilight stars can’t walk out as they want otherwise they can trigger off a riot. Robert Pattinson is the favourite target of the paparazzi. Outside shooting are becoming more and more painful. Robert is shooting a new film , Bel Ami , in Hungary. It’s a new romantic drama. Photographers disturb him relentlessly and between the star and the paparazzi , the war is on.
RP ” We had to redub all the dialogue for Remember Me we shot outside because we can only hear the clicking of their camera. They don’t respect anything so I don’t respect them either. “
But let’s come back to Twilight , the third installement , called Hésitation , will be released on June and all the attention is drawn towards the fourth installement whose shooting should start in November. An installement which will be divided into 2 films , shot one after the other but with distinct release dates.
