ESQ: You’re not the only franchise star transitioning to more artsy films. Do you feel a rivalry there? Ever see Robert Pattinson getting great roles and think, He was once the kid in the background of my scenes at Hogwarts?
DR: With Rob, I look at people and I think it’s easy to spot the ones who are in it for the right reasons, who want careers with longevity. What’s interesting about mine and Rob’s scenario is that Potter and Twilight are what made us, but Jennifer Lawrence had an Oscar nomination before Hunger Games. Mentally, we’re rooting for each other. Franchises aren’t to be avoided. They can be exciting and they give you opportunities to do other films. And it’s always pleasing to see it’s possible to come out of a franchise, have a career, and be respected, when you see these other actors.
What’s it like to beat the likes of Robert Pattinson, Brad Pitt and George Clooney to the title of Total Film’s Sexiest Actor?
“It’s insane. It basically doesn’t make any sense. When I was a teenager, my sister had a poster of Brad Pitt from Legends Of The Fall on her bedroom wall. I also thought it was generally accepted that George Clooney was some kind of gold standard? And doesn’t Robert Pattinson inspire mayhem and delirium wherever he goes?I suppose my question is: Are you sure? If you are sure, then I am very flattered. VERY. Thank you, ladies. You are women of impeccable taste and style. My god, you know how to make a man feel good.”
For series author Meyer, there was no joking about the conclusion. It was bittersweet, especially since she’ll likely never work again with leads Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
“I’m a hands-on mom, and these kids really feel like my children in some ways,” she said.
“I have a weird relationship with fame. It is sometimes hard to live, but I did not want to complain. Probably because the people are friendly with me - and it is that you released.
I’m thinking it has nothing to do with what lives Robert (Pattinson) This is a guy I really like - and no I do not have his laptop, and I say this, because every time it’s the first thing you wonder. He is a sex symbol. It’s sexy and it just makes her look ”romantic” for girls tocrack. It is the perfect size to seduce girls - unlike me (laughs). He can be charming and cute, wild and sexy … I do not have this status: look at the photos in the press. When one puts us face-to-face, I always look a bit silly or I make faces, while he, he always has his eye as a womanizer!”
Does it seem weird that you said if you attach yourself to the project that it would get the green light?
This project was already far enough along and had enough people behind it, including the Hammer name to be getting it going, I was just the final thing that was needed.
You’re being modest…
I promise it’s not false modesty though. There are very, very few actors whose name you know… even people like me and Rob Pattinson, who are at the moment big names and bankable – whatever that means – there are very few actors whose saying yes to something would mean a green light for that film. I think probably George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Johnny Depp, are the only three that have that kind of pull, and that comes from how they’ve had very long careers and are universally respected as actors and as professionals. So there’s a long way to go before we’re at that stage.
“[Robert] Pattinson won’t be voicing any characters on the Special. Who will? How about the boy who lived!? That’s right, NYmag.com reports, Daniel Radcliffe will be voicing “a sullen teenage vampire named Edmund.” Looks like there is more healthy competition between Harry Potter and Twilight!

Twilight star Robert Pattinson has been beaten by Harry Potter star Daniel Racliffe to be crowned best Valentine’d Day kisser
Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe came top of the survey to find out who people think would be the best Valentine’s Day kisser, ahead of Johnny Depp and Twilight and New Moon hunk Robert Pattinson – who came ahead of his fellow Twilight stars Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner.
In the poll for Park Christmas Savings, Daniel pulled in a massive 53 per sent of the vote, with Johnny in second place with 36 per cent and Robert Pattinson in third with a lowly 3 per cent.
Other stars to make the list include the new hubby of Jordan, Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid, who came in fifth place.
Other Twilight stars also feature in the list – Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner, who come in sixth and seventh place respectively.
