Photographer Peter Lindbergh mentions Robert Pattinson’s photoshoot for Dior   1 comment

From Women’s Wear Daily

Recognizable for his purist style, Lindbergh seems to be prospering during the current backlash against excessive airbrushing and Photoshopping. “For me, every picture is a portrait — no matter what I’m doing. From my very old standpoint, I think everything you do should have a meaning,” he says. “The idea [that] it doesn’t is unacceptable to me. A lot of mainstream photographers seem not to think about what they’re doing or feel any responsibility toward anything. By the time they’re done, the models don’t have any trace of themselves left. This thing about looking young with no wrinkles or expression is all so boring really.”

In the next month or so, his one-minute Lancôme films featuring Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz and Lily Collins will be released, as well as L’Oréal ones featuring Julianne Moore, Inès de la Fressange and others. Having just shot Robert Pattinson for the new Dior Homme Parfum campaign, Charlize Theron for J’adore Dior and Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton, Lindbergh said he doesn’t fit the designer mold, “I look more like a plumber, when you see me. Fashion is not my thing.”

‘The Trap’: Casting + plot news, Robert Pattinson in final talks   3 comments

PATTINSONLIFEB45657 (478)

From The Hollywood Reporter

Focus Features is in final talks to to prebuy U.S. rights to Harmony Korine’s The Trap, a revenge tale set against the backdrop of the Miami music scene starring Idris Elba as a gangster rap artist and Benicio Del Toro as his best friend who took the fall for a robbery the duo committed years earlier.

Elba is attached to replace Jamie Foxx, with Al Pacino, Robert Pattinson and James Franco also in final talks to join the cast (Del Toro was announced last year).

Korine, who is repped by CAA, has been a hot commodity since the indie hit Spring Breakers, also starring Franco. Grisbi’s John Lesher, producer of the Oscar-winning Birdman, is producing Korine’s latest outing alongside Charles-Marie Anthonioz at Iconoclast and Marc Schmidheiny at DCM Film.

Focus declined comment but sources say negotiations are at an advanced stage. CAA is arranging financing and representing domestic rights.

In more good news for The Trap, Lionsgate is handling the movie internationally and will likely shop the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

In The Trap, written by Korine, Rico is at the top of his career and about to enjoy a triumphant night at the Grammy Awards when Slim (Del Toro) is released from prison after 14 years. Slim is determined to exact revenge after learning that Rico not only achieved fame and fortune but also married his girlfriend and raised Slim’s son as his own.

Slim’s plot includes recruiting a crew of Uzi-wielding surfers led by Max (Pattinson), as well as enlisting the help of Rico’s cocaine-happy manager (Franco). Pacino plays Slim’s parole officer.

Elba, who is represented by WME, is next in theaters with Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1). He also stars in African war drama Beasts of No Nation, which was recently acquired by Netflix and is slated to debut on the streaming service and in select theaters this fall timed to awards season.

Pacino is repped by UTA and manager Rick Nicita. Pattinson is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment; Franco by CAA and Untitled Entertainment.

Alessandra Mastronardi talks about Robert Pattinson and LIFE   10 comments

PATTINSONLIFEB45657 (103)

Robert Pattinson? Let’s dismantle the myth: he is not a sex symbol. he is cute, but he fascinates you more for his kind behavior and/or for his attitude of a damned genius. But then, just because of it, for me he is more interesting. He has the world at his feet but he never acts pretentious or superior. A couple of times I asked him personal questions about his work and career. He is a bit embarrassed and shy – and I’m Neapolitan – but once he opens up he’s smiling and never dull.

Corbijn is very precise when it comes to the details. In the early days of filming I realized that Rob had some strange tics. I asked around if those were his. I was too shy to ask him myself and found out that those expressions belonged to Stock. The viewers may not even notice Rob’s efforts, but for Corbijn it was necessary that these things were done the right way.
