Before rumours start spreading further I’d like to clear up something. The other day we did a poll asking people what book character they’d like to see Rob play. Alexander in the Bronze Horseman was one of those roles (see poll here). Then we did another poll asking people if they thought this was a good role for Rob (see poll here). Like we said in the post:
**NOTE: BEFORE RUMOURS START, ROB IS NOT LINKED TO THE BRONZE HORSEMAN. IT’S JUST WISHFUL
THINKING**
We’d love to see Rob play the role of Alexander however as far as we know Rob isn’t linked to The Bronze Horseman. In fact casting hasn’t even begun for the movie, it’s only in script stage at this point. However we do wish someone would send him the script 😉

Yesterday we did a poll asking you wish book character you’d love to see Robert Pattinson play on the big screen. In third place came Alexander Belov/Barrington from The Bronze Horseman.
So what do you think? Would Robert Pattinson play a good Alexander Belov/Barrington? Alexander is a 22 year old officer in the Red Army.
Some of us are huge fans of the book The Bronze Horseman (I’m actually re-reading it right now) and we were a little excited yesterday when we learned that the book was going to be made into a film. Someone needs to send that script to Rob ASAP it would be a great role for him
. Many of us would love to see him play the role of Alexander Belov/Barrington. For those wondering The Bronze Horseman is a book that was written by Paullina Simons that takes place during the siege of Leningrad during World War II. You can read more about it here.

Alexander: “First we will send the frontovik into the streets with guns. When they are dead, we will send me, with a tank, like the one you’ve been making me. When I’m dead, all the barricades down, all the weapons and tanks gone, they will send you with a rock.”
Tania: “And when I’m dead?”
Alexander: “You’re the last line of defense. When you’re dead, Hitler will march through Leningrad the way he marched through Paris. Do you remember that?”
Tania: “That’s not fair the French didn’t fight”
Alexander: “The didn’t fight Tania, but you will fight. For every street and for every building. And when you lose —”
Tania: “The art will be saved!”
Alexander: “Yes the art will be saved. And another artist will paint a glorious picture, immortalizing you, with a club in your raised hand, swinging to hit the German tank as it’s about to crush you, all against the backdrop of the statue of Peter the Great atop his bronze horse. And that picture will hang in the Hermitage, and at the start of the next war the curator will once again stand on the street, crying over his vanishing crates. ”

We asked Larry411 some questions regarding the film and here’s what he answered:

When I asked if casting had started for it he replied: larry411 @FakerParis1 Not even close. Could be years away.
larry411@FakerParis1 Anybody in the world could play it.
larry411 @FakerParis1 Casting is usually the last thing they do. I’ve seen scripts take 6 years from script to casting. Or it could be 4 months.

The other day we did a poll asking you guys which book character you’d like to see Robert Pattinson play on the big screen. We went through all your answer (awesome discussions by the way) and narrowed it down to 5 book characters. For those of you who’ve never read the books I’ve attached a little summary to each one. If you love reading and haven’t read The Bronze Horseman I highly recommend it. It’s an amazing book!
Here are the 5 characters:

Alexander Belov – The Bronze Horseman
Set in her native St. Petersburg, Russia, Simons’s latest thick novel (after Tully, etc.) focuses on a WWII love affair. As the story opens, Tatiana, the youngest member of the Metanova family, is just 17; she still shares a bed with her older sister, Dasha. Not long after the country goes to war with Germany, Tatiana meets Alexander, a soldier, and sparks fly. It turns out, however, that Alexander is the same soldier Dasha has been crowing about. Possessed of a strong sense of family loyalty, and living under conditions that permit no privacy, Tatiana refuses to interfere with her sister’s happiness, but the attraction between Tatiana and Alexander proves too powerful. Complicating matters, another soldier, Dimitri, has information that could destroy Alexander, and Dimitri likes Tatiana, too. In order to protect both Dasha’s feelings and Alexander’s life, the star-crossed lovers become part of a deceptive quadrangle as war intensifies around them. Taking her title from a tragic poem by Alexandr Pushkin, Simons skillfully highlights the ironies of the socialist utopia. Read more here.

Mr. Darcy – Pride & Prejudice
Austen trains her sights on a country village and a few families–in this case, the Bennets, the Philips, and the Lucases. Into their midst comes Mr. Bingley, a single man of good fortune, and his friend, Mr. Darcy, who is even richer. Mrs. Bennet, who married above her station, sees their arrival as an opportunity to marry off at least one of her five daughters. Bingley is complaisant and easily charmed by the eldest Bennet girl, Jane; Darcy, however, is harder to please. Put off by Mrs. Bennet’s vulgarity and the untoward behavior of the three younger daughters, he is unable to see the true worth of the older girls, Jane and Elizabeth. His excessive pride offends Lizzy, who is more than willing to believe the worst that other people have to say of him; when George Wickham, a soldier stationed in the village, does indeed have a discreditable tale to tell, his words fall on fertile ground.
