We’ve been seeing a lot of negativity in the comments towards the fan pics that were taken with Rob on Saturday night. Maybe this post from vampirefreak101 will explain it better. (Negativity in the comments can and will be deleted)

This is kind of an explanation to people who weren’t at marcus foster gig last night so dont actually know what it was like. I’ve read alot of fan comments and b.s on livejournal, twitter, and fan sites about it.
No one upset or hurt or harassed Rob last night that i know of. Yes someone gave him a letter to give to Kristen, and also he spoke to a friend of mine on the phone. Fans had quick chats with him and then walked away. Marcus and Rob aren’t stupid, they know fans are going to recognise him and ask for photos/autographs wherever he goes, he’s famous now, he can’t avoid it. He is happy to meet fans. No one crowded him, it wasnt crazy. Hardly any fans did to be honest, most were happy just to see him or just say hi. Rob went outside to take pics with fans, to not distract from the gig, which was really thoughtful of him.
If u know me or have been following me a while you’ll know I’m a big fan of Marcus, I’ve been to alot of his gigs, and i therefore know him quite well. Yes i was lucky enough to be able to speak to rob last night, after speaking to Marcus for ages. Both of them were fine with this. Rob was happy, relaxed and he’s a really nice guy.(& what i chatted to marcus or rob about is private so dont ask, please). I’m aware that some Rob fans go to Marcus gig just to see Rob, i’m not ever going to judge fans who do that, completely up to them, but yea i do wish people would go for Marcus as well, he’s a really talented musician in my opinion.

Creo que todo esto lo mueve lo de siempre, la envidia, la gente no lleva bien la suerte que tienen algunas personas al ver a Rob y encima poder hacerse una foto con el. I love Rob, but I also love, love, love me some Marcus too. Someone has to tell him he needs to come to New Orlaens, Louisiana. I’d be the first one to buy my tickets.
We all understand his need for privacy.We all know that being famous is tough.He is at a very high status of fame right now.He knows the fans are what keeps him working and who put him in the status he is in now.Therefore I am sure that he doesn’t mind a pic or two with them.He steps outside to do this showing respect for his friends.That is a thoughtful kind caring person.If this was reporters or pap it would of been a different story I am sure.God Bless him…It sounds like he had a great relaxing time.He was in his comfort zone..

I could be your Sam sister. So much of what you said is true and i think it’s important for people to really think about the things they see and realise that pictures really DON’T say a thousand words, but a thousand possibilities.
I go to see SAm Bradley here all the time. I love his music, I have a nice friendly relationship with he and his band. And while it is sad that Sam’s concerts are seriously overrun with people here to see Rob (this summer with Rob in LA and Sam here too was crazy)
The pics from this summer at Sam’s concert talked about how upset Rob was and upset every time he left. I was there both times, and let me tell you, he was giggling and happy to be with his mate, and cordial to those that discreetly said their hellos.
And when he left, he puts on a face, a character if you will. Why would he smile and wave at the paps as he left. Straight face, straight to the car. That’s how you do it.
Rob knows what he’s doing. And he is appreciative of those that respect his space. He has to be one of the most gracious celebrities I have seen, and i work in the industry, I have seen many.
Don’t assume anything of what you hear. Don’t always believe something JUST because its on twitter. I’m not saying he’s not annoyed by the constant barrage of flashes and screams and tugs and grabs. Anyone would be. But he deals with it a lot better than most his age.

Wonderfully put…and I like that you said he was having fun until he had to go outside with the paps around. That would kill anyone’s buzz, lol. I find it interesting that alot of fans go off of one picture to say how Rob is feeling usually for the whole night, forgetting that there were many other hours where Rob & friends made all kinds of expressions. I hate to see him bothered to an extent…which I know many will agree, but it’s nice to hear good, positive stories like this. Thank you!!

I am the lady in the pink check shirt that got her pic with smiley Rob on Friday and I agree with vampirefreak101. I got into Marcus’s music through my love of Rob’s music and so have enjoyed finding out all about Marcus’s talent and songs. I went to see him at the Lexington on 6 Sept and loved the gig so much (and Matt Corby who was a support act too) that I wanted to see him again before they finished the tour. Of course, it was amazing that Rob was there too, there were no definite sightings of him in London before I went but I just enjoyed the whole night including the bands. The fans were very courteous of him (and hopefully so was I) and when I did approach him for his autograph he wasn’t with his friends but just finishing with some fans talking to him. To actually get a photo with him was just amazing for me and if he didn’t want to have it taken then I don’t think he would have been smiling. He has his “serious” face for fan pics, rather than a forced smile one which is understandable. I was just lucky that the pic was taken in his relaxed moment when we were chatting just so you can see what he’s really like with fans. I hope he enjoys the rest of his time in the UK without being harassed by the paparazzi.
I think Lynne I already said you handled yourself very well and I was so excited for you. I hope you have not been offended by people with their comments, I don’t believe they were directly related to you. I think it was on a whole, if you know what I mean?
I have a friend who is a celeb who’s name I will keep out of this. Robert reminds me so much of him. I know my friend loves his fans.. fan… its just a word, as is celeb. It does not define us as the people we are inside but it is a LABEL on both sides.
It is a marriage, a dance we both play. If not for us they wouldn’t have the career they love, without them we wouldn’t have entertainment. So we learn to respect one another. I think you did a fine job in that area.
Really sounds like Rob is just a nice guy who doesn’t truly mind and if he did he would speak up! Let’s let him decide his life and who gets a pic or autograph and who doesn’t/
I almost want to cry for the poor guy. Why do ppl always have to start so much drama? The pics look fine to me, and he looks relaxed and happy to me. He knows what being a star is all about, and he knows fans are going to ask for graphs and pics, so stop making a big deal out of it Dramamakers! Im sure we all agree that we love Rob and we would never force ourselves on him right? Were not the paparazzi for christs sake! In short…………..Save the drama for your mamma!
