From Shropshirestar:
Irons: R-Patz ‘gifted and cursed’
Max Irons may be being compared to Robert Pattinson but the Red Riding Hood star reckons R-Patz has been “gifted and cursed” with fame.
The son of acting couple Jeremy Irons and Sinead Cusack hit the red carpet in Hollywood to premiere the new thriller in which he plays Amanda Seyfried’s love interest.
Having been cast and directed in the movie by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke, Max confessed he takes any Pattinson comparisons as a compliment.
“Well Robert’s a lovely actor, [but] this is a different beast to the film that shall not be named!” he joked, before adding: “You know, I think he’s been gifted and cursed.”
The 25-year-old explained: “All you want to be able to do as an actor is work and to be able to focus on the work. For lack of a better term, the celebrity is consequential and all you should be doing is focusing on the quality of your work and kind of, I think, ignoring the rest of it.
“If I can do that and have a long, long career and not a short, short career that’s all I want.
“Robert by the way is going to have a long, long career,” Max added. “I have a feeling about that… because he’s English!”
Here’s the de-tagged version of the new Vanity Fair outtake, featuring Robert Pattinson. I also made some black & whites and colour enhanced versions for you guys.

Sing us a song, piano man—let’s start with “Happy Birthday.” New Orleans’s Preservation Hall—where Annie Leibovitz shot young Robert Pattinson, shown tickling the ol’ 88 with the world-famous Preservation Hall band—celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Situated in the French Quarter, the music venue is one of the country’s most hallowed: it was founded in 1961 for the purpose of preserving New Orleans–style jazz, and indigenous American music.
Lee Pace who plays Garrett in the upcoming ‘Breaking Dawn’ talked about Robert Pattinson, Bill Condon & Breaking Dawn in a recent interview:
“The thing about him that is so charming is what you see is what you get,” Pace said. “He is as charming and humble and handsome as he presents himself. Totally what you see is what you get with him.”
Pace also said that director Bill Condon‘s take on the movies is a bit more “dark” than the previous three movies. “Bill Condon is cooling up these movies,” he said. “I hope that doesn’t get me in trouble with anyone, but he’s cool…He really is killing it with this one. He’s making it cool. Bill is finding that stuff and letting it be as shocking as it can be, but stylish, too.”
Mark your calendars: Robert Pattinson will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 18th.
