Help Out Lac Megantic   7 comments

2013_LacMegantic

Hi everyone,

JustFP, the owner of ToR, here. I am a French Canadian and on the night of July 6th a terrible tragedy happened in my province. The people who visit ToR have always been very helpful in time of need, which is why I am reaching out to all of you, to help my fellow French Canadians from Lac Megantic. Lac Megantic  has been devastated and needs help badly. Check out the video below and you will understand why. My heart is breaking for these people. The Eastern Townships are where my entire family lives. This train passed through my dad’s town. It could have easily been me searching for a loved one. Everyone in this town knew each other, everyone lost someone they knew that night.  The Quebec Red Cross is gathering money to help these people out.  If you can, please donate, even if it’s a small amount.

To all the authors out there, the library has also been destroyed. They are trying to build back their book collection, so if you can send them a book it would be great!

Please watch this video.

Lac-Mégantic Support

During the night of July 6th, a derailed train carrying crude oil caused explosions and a devastating fire in downtown Lac-Mégantic. Canadian Red Cross teams are actively responding to ensure that the needs of evacuees are being met. Some of these people have lost everything. Your help is urgently needed.

Five days after a train carrying crude oil derailed and exploded in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, the rural town resembles a scene of desolation. Its downtown is a charred sacrifice zone. 50 people are likely dead, making the train’s toll one of the worst disasters in recent Canadian history.

In a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Quebec provincial police Insp. Michel Forget said police had completed the difficult process of meeting with the families of the 50 people who remain unaccounted for.

The best way you can help is by making a donation. Cash donations are the most efficient way for you to translate your care and concern into immediate, meaningful help for those affected by this disaster.

For the books:

Dear all,

As many of you have heard, there was a train crash in Lac-Mégantic last Friday. Among the many buildings destroyed is the local library, which was about to move to a new location. As a result, all books have been burnt to ashes.

Numerous authors from Quebec have decided to send a signed copy of their books in order to express their sympathy to those who have lost a loved one in the tragedy. After discussing with UNEQ and several local administrators, we realized that they were not ready for a massive donation as of now. Nevertheless, the Fondation des Parlementaires agreed to store a portion of the books, only if signed and sent by their author. To make such a donation, please mail your book(s) to the following address:

FONDATION DES PARLEMENTAIRES

‘Mission: Blackilist’ Update: New Director, Script Rewrite, Filming Schedule   1 comment

mission-blacklist1

Deadline confirms what we reported a few weeks ago on twitter, is the new director of ‘Mission: Blacklist’. According to the article, filming is schedule to the fall

From Deadline

The Swedish invasion into Hollywood continues. Jesper Ganslandt has been tapped to direct Robert Pattinson in the psychological thriller Mission: Blacklist, about a brilliant young military interrogator who spearheads the capture of Saddam Hussein. Pic is based on the life of soldier-turned-intelligence agent Eric Maddox, who funneled his experiences into the 2008 nonfic book Mission: Black List #1 – The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein – As Told by the Soldier Who Masterminded His Capture. The Code Entertainment project was first announced last year in Cannes back when Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire was set to direct. Following Sauvaire’s departure Ganslandt stepped in and will make his English-language debut after directing three features, Blondie, The Ape, and Falkenberg Farewell, in his native Sweden. Filming is scheduled for the fall.

The script is by Band of Brothers scribe Erik Jendressen, Dylan Kussman, and Trace Sheehan. Ross M. Dinerstein of Preferred Content is producing alongside Jendressen and Kevin Waller, with Code Entertainment producing and financing the project. Jesper is repped by Paradigm and Magnolia.

Dylan Kussman, ‘Mission: Blacklist’ screenwriter, that first shared the news about Ganslandt, tweeted today a few updates about the script and shooting locations:

ETA: @Blacklist_blog obtained a list from the California Film Comission of productions approved under the Tax Incentive Program. ‘Mission: Blacklist’ is listed with a start of photography date for September 30, 2013.

Mission: Blacklist is approved under the Tax Incentive Program and its start of photography date is September 30, 2013.

Under this program, the production must film either 75% of its days in California, or spend 70% of its production budget in California.

Here’s a flashback pic post of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Chris Weitz on the set of New Moon in Montepulciano. In many of the scenes Rob had CGI dots stuck on him which I removed, which is why you won’t see them in these pics.

Robert Pattinson on ‘Most Underrated Actors in Hollywood’ list   5 comments

pattinsonlifeberlincosmo2012a

10. Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson barely made the list simply because he’s become a household name, thanks to the Twilight Series. Though that is all he is mainly known for, Pattinson’s roles in Remember Me, Water for Elephants, and Bel Ami, show that he is much more than a pretty face. Despite his popularity among the teen and young adult worlds, he doesn’t get much recognition from Hollywood or The Academy, nor has he received any awards, like the Golden Globes and Oscars. If Pattinson is handed a serious role, given a stellar producer and director, he will undoubtedly impress.
