*VIDEO* Olivia Williams Talks About Meeting Robert Pattinson, ‘Maps To The Stars’ and Cronenberg Leave a comment
She starts talking about Maps To The Stars and Cronenberg at 0:40. Talks about meeting Rob at 1:12
She also talked about the movie to Telegraph UK:
Recently, she’s also spent an afternoon on a Canadian beach with this week’s Review cover star Jeff Bridges (for the dark fantasy adventure Seventh Son) and sounds as if she’s had a whale of a time playing the Hollywood mother of a “really objectionable child star” in David Cronenberg’s new satire, Maps to the Stars.
“You look at the oeuvre and you think what a weirdy, creepy bloke he must be. Nicest man in the world! The set was sort of a Zen monastery with a bit of humour thrown in. My part’s quite small, but I can’t wait to see it.” Leading me to the door, Williams offers a handshake, and gamely heads back into the studio for her next pummelling.

Why did you shoot the commercial in black and white?
Robert Pattinson has such an iconic image, that of the dreadfully pale Twilight vampire, a “dark” character living in a world full of colour. By shooting in black and white and cutting his hair shorter than usual, we have produced a modern and yet timeless effect.(…)
How did you approach Robert Pattinson? Did you know him?
No, he put my name foward. He’s friends with Harmony Korine, who’s also one of my friends. Before you meet him, you imagine all sorts of things associated with huge stars, that he collects swords or walks around stark naked at home, but in fact, he’s very professional, very straightfoward, and very normal. He’s one of the new breed of stars, who’s become famous overnight because of one role in a franchise, and is aware that has two or three years ahead of him to position himself as an genuine actor with real talent. I didn’t actually realise before I went onto the set with him just what it meant to be the type of star who creates a riot everytime he goes anywhere. There were paparazzi on top of the nearby buildings and we had to cover the windows so we could work in peace.

Bill Condon Created a Supercut of Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 2 comments

In an interview with Collider, director Bill Condon revealed that he created a supercut of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2. Whether it will be released is still to be determined.
Collider: There’s a huge Twilight box-set coming out later this year. Have you done anything for it? Did you contribute anything?
Bill Condon: Well, I think we did so much for the extended edition of [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1], I think there’s probably extra stuff on [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2], although not additional scenes, unfortunately, because that movie is so unbelievably visual effects heavy, it would cost a ton of money to actually create the environment for some of those extra scenes. But, I do have a kind of version of those two movies cut into one movie that is not going to be there, but I hope one day might emerge. I think it would be an interesting experience for those who are really into it.
When you say you have a new version, are there a lot of things different, or is it just one cut?
Condon: No, it’s just one cut. There are obviously adjustments you have to make and rearranging some of the stuff. Just making it into one seamless thing, making it feel more like the original novel.
Did you do that while editing [The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1]?
Condon: Yeah, I did it before we shut down the editing room.
This is interesting, I’m surprised that Summit hasn’t come around and said, “Let’s release that as a double feature in select theaters.”
Condon: Right, yeah. It’d be interesting. Maybe that’ll happen.
