Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has begun a new ad campaign centered around New Moon, as Volvo is the the brand of choice of Edward Cullen in the books and movies.
Volvo is advertising the XC60 SUV in coordination with the movie, where the car will appear as Edward’s ride–a change from the smaller Volvo C30 coupe featured in Twilight.
What about you–will these ads convince you to become a “Stupid shiny Volvo owner”?
Screencaps from the video behind the scenes of New Moon in Montepulciano. I totally screencapped Chris Weitz because KStewDevotee has a huge crush on him and ermmm I didn’t make the tags on this post so I’m not the one saying I rock. Christy drafted it. 🙂
An Australian tabloid scooped the world on all things Robert Pattinson with a report from the depths of the British actor’s Vancouver lair that he’s “drinking to excess and indulging in other dangerous behaviour.”
The NW tab claims Rob has been “living his celebrity lifestyle to the extreme.”
“It would be the perfect role for me. That’s kind of my dream thing to play a vampire. I always loved vampire movies, but I never had the right script. … I had a lot of offers from different movies, but they weren’t the right things. I think [a ‘Twilight’ film] would be the perfect movie. I don’t know if I’m talented in those things, though. I never tried it. We were in one movie when we were 6 years old, and it was not really good. Robert Pattinson is definitely a better actor than me.”
-Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz, discussing his cinematic aspirations. The singer told MTV News that he has often thought about exploring his undead, blood-sucking side. “I was at a Halloween party when I was really young, and I was a vampire,” he said. “And then I started to wear makeup and stuff. That was the whole beginning. That was the whole story.” The band is currently supporting their new album Humanoid, which features the hit single and video “Automatic.”
Here’s a great article about Rob and Little Ashes.
Never underestimate the power of fan frenzy. Director Paul Morrison made a small, highly literate film called Little Ashes, about a youthful relationship between the artist, Salvador Dali, and the poet, Federico Garcia Lorca, who met in Madrid in 1922.
Neither of them had fully defined themselves as the artists they would later become, and the film depicts their friendship as intense and ambiguous, with a strong homoerotic magnetism.
It is an art movie but Dali is played by Robert Pattinson, the haunted vampire from the Twilight series and he is currently the fan favourite of the world’s teens, so Little Ashes is attracting huge teen interest.
