Scans of the Production notes for Bel Ami (in French)
From The Playlist:
“Cosmopolis” – dir. David Cronenberg – France/Germany/Canada
Synopsis: Based on the novel by American authorDon DeLillo, this centers on Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson), a young multi-billionaire making an epic, ultimately doomed limo ride across New York City.
What You Need to Know: At the outset, “Cosmopolis” seems to fall in line with the mannered, critic-friendly films of the recent Cronenberg era. It is, after all, an adaptation of a critically revered and best-selling novel and stars hunky heartthrob-of-the-moment Robert Pattinson. But having seen those first few trailers, the movie seems more atypical and dangerous (a good thing, since “A Dangerous Method” felt far too safe for a filmmaker known for exploding heads and genital mutilation), and certainly a return to a more recognizable kind of picture for the director with a number of Cronenberg’s favorite thematic tics look to be explored, including man’s relationship with modern technology, the messiness of murder, and sexual obsession. The big question is whether “Twilight” star Pattinson can pull off that lead role. His starring efforts outside the vampire franchise, like “Water For Elephants” and “Bel Ami,” have mostly been met by shrugs, but we’re impressed with what we’ve seen of him here, and if he ever wins over his doubters, it’ll be on this one. He’s got a strong supporting cast behind him which’ll help, with Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton, Jay Baruchel, Sarah Gadon and Mathieu Amalric along for the ride.
Mission: Blacklist (one of robs new films) has a new promo banner from Embankment Films page. The banner is probably for this year’s Cannes Film Market, where the movie is being sold. (i.e. not a new picture, just being used for the market)

And it’s also shown on LaunchingFilms:
It looks GREAT!! Robert Pattinson on the cover of Premiere Magazine – Cannes Special. Out this Saturday.
ETA: We took down the interview and scans of the photoshoot, at Premiere’s request.
From Premiere FR:
Star of Cosmopolis, the new movie by David Cronenberg, in competition at Cannes, RP was a willing participant to a crazy photoshoot that lasted 13 hours! Find out more in the May issue.
In general, when you organize a photoshoot with an actor, whose movies made more than 2.7 billion of dollars all over the world, you except someone cold and shy, someone with a controlled image and with a safeguard. Everything is timed to the last minute, especially if the actor arrives late, everything has to be started over again. I say ‘in general’ because all of this doesn’t apply to Robert Pattinson!
It’s at the end of our interview that the actor comes up with the idea of a photoshoot dedicated to David Cronenberg’s movies. [ToR note: Check out stills for Cronenberg’s movies The Dead Ringers, Videodrome and Scanners to compare.] Like a homage to his respect for the filmmaker, who by casting him in Cosmopolis, offered him not only a passport for after Twilight but aslo the opportunity to come and celebrate his entry to the adult age, on the steps of Cannes on May 25th.
To say that he got involved n the making of the photoshoot is an euphemism. The first images of Scanners and Videdrome we prepared for him as an inspiration for the future snapshots came back to us with an unexpected commentary: Rob was sorry that they weren’t more daring, wanting to push all the limits with this shoot – the complete opposite of what someone in his position would have asked Two days later, the photograph Eliot Lee Hazel and his crew – sort of strange for this kind of shoot (a special effect makeup artist, a pregnant lady …) – met in a glummy hotel in downtown L.A. to give the go-ahead of this shoot that lasted for exactly 13 hours.
After seeing the results of this shoot, we’re ready to bet that you won’t look at Robert Pattinson the same way again. That the last pretense who might still weigh on the actor will fly away as fast as they appeared.

“When director Bill Condon recently announced Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson would pop in their vampire contact lenses one more time for a few days of ‘Breaking Dawn- Part 2′ pickups, we had one vital question: how would Kristen and Rob get their hair into shape for Bella and Edward? KSN had the pleasure of chatting with celebrity Colorist Jennifer J. about how she transformed both Kristen and Rob’s locks back into that of The Cullens.
While it’s often just another day at the salon for someone like Kristen to alter her hair for her films, we wondered if it was as easy for a client like Rob. We asked Jennifer if there is a different mentality for a colorist when working with men. Jennifer detailed;
There are two different types of color for men. Color that looks like it’s colored and color that looks like it’s not colored. I specialize in men’s hair color because I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve that can make hair color for men look great but natural. So many men have problems with their hair color looking red and brassy which reads fake on a man but I use color in a way so that it really looks untouched and more masculine.
But, Rob isn’t exactly a stranger to changing his hair color since he’s had different shades for The Saga and ‘Water for Elephants’. In fact, Rob was a good sport in the process. “Rob was happy that his hair color was grown out,” Jennifer said, “so he wanted something as temporary as possible.”
