  6. Finnick from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 😀

  7. I would like to see him in ‘The Bronze Horseman’, the problem is that are 3 books…I don’t want to see him again like in a Twilight thing again.

    • I agree. I have to say the first book was the best of all three. Tatiana & Alexandre was good, there’s another version of the book called The Bridge to Holy Cross which I haven’t read. The last book was my least favorite in the series.

  8. I would love to see him play Justin from ‘ Thanks for The Memories’ by Cecila Ahern.

  9. Mark in The Princess and the Pauper. It is NOT like the barbie version. It is actually is cool.

  10. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice…
    Or Mr Bingley…

  11. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice

  12. I would like to see him in the role of Connor Ford (Smoke Jumper – Nicholas Evans)

  13. Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald.

  14. Either Holden Caulfield or James Frey from A Million Little Pieces.

  15. Heathcliff in ‘Wuthering Heights’

  16. If Rob played Heathcliff in “Wuthering heights” you’d have to start digging my grave! My fave book of all time, and Rob would be sooo delicious in this role.

  17. Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights or the Vicomte de Valmont from the fench novel Les liaisons dangereuses (dangerous liaisons)

  18. Raskolnikov (Crime and Punishment) I’d love to see him playing a really tortured character. His look says so much… Anyway I’d love to see him as Mr. Darcy too

  19. My secret dream is as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. My favorite book and my favorite actor.
Also as Jacob Jankowski in WFE, LolLolLol.

  20. Robert Pattinson acting as Mr.Darcy…*_* He would be perfect…

  21. And after NM I would like to see him as Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliette, not another one. Or any Shakespeare’s drama or comedy.

  22. I would like to see him as “Dorian Gray” (The picture of Dorian Gray – Oscar Wilde) I like the history.

  23. Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind!

  24. Wow, good question. There are soo many I would pick. I guess I would say Cabel from Wake, Fade, and Gone!

  25. There are many characters I would love to see Rob play, but one of my top picks would be Holden Caufield from Catcher in the Rye. When reading that book, I can totally see Rob in that role!

  26. Edward Rochester from Jane Eyre

  27. Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. come on I don’t have to give an explanation

  28. Dorian Gray, without any hesitation!

  29. Ohh.. I’m obsessed with this character from Hemingway’s romance For whom the Bell tolls, “Robert Jordan”… I need to see Rob playing this role! Also I think he would do a great “Rodion Raskolnikov” from Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. I think those are the kind of characters he would be interested in playing.

  30. Has anyone read The Outcast by Sadie Jones? I pictured Rob in that the whole time I was reading it (but don’t I usually anymore with any book?) but I think he’d be great. I also love him for Heathcliff now that someone mentioned it.

  31. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice

    • Well, there are already 2 series and 1 film. How about Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice & Zombies? Scheduled for 2011 and Natalie Portman has already been cast as Elizabeth Bennet…

  32. Another Edward lol, from “Veronika Decides to die”. I think he’s gonna do a great job with this role of a schizo one, and maybe KStew as Veronika.

  33. Obviously Ryan Gosling was great but wouldn’t Rob have been a fantastic Noah in the Notebook?!?

  34. What about playing Ulrich in “the man without qualitites” or Goethe´s lovesick young Werther?
I cannot even say exactly why I would like to see him in one of those roles, maybe because Werther is such a passionate character and Ulrich is more the cool, unscrupulous intellectual…???

  35. Jamie Frasie, Outlander, Diana Gabaldon +sigh*

  36. there is a novel from samuel richardson Pamela is a sentimental writer. He must be the cont of the novel.in italy is a fiction called Elisa di Rivombrosa.Robert should play Fabrizio.watch the fiction and read the book.

  37. It has to be Mr Darcy.

  38. Mr Darcy from “Pride and Prejudice” and Jared in Stephanie Meyers book “The Host”.

  39. I have to say…I think even we are typecasting him. I know he wants to be taken as a serious actor but still… I would love to see him play Mr Darcy but that role has been done repeatedly. I rarely read fiction, most of the time I read autobiography’s having said that…there are a few fiction books that I have read. I personally think if Rob Zombie ever got a hold of The Shining Rob would be awesome in the role of Jack Torrance and in Jaws….Chief Brody. Both were unassuming characters in the beginning that ended up being pushed to their limits.

My other choices….James Riley from The Skeleton’s on the Zahara Which would be an older role from him. In the book James is 37 but one I think he would be brilliant in.

My last choice is Herman Webster Mudgett from The Devil in the White City. Yes, I am well aware that he was a serial killer. Albeit a very good looking doctor. If this part were to be done right….it screams Oscar.

  40. Howard Roark, “The Fountainhead”.

  41. I’d like to see him play the 1950’s village rebel Lewis Aldridge in Sadie Jones’ The Outcast.
Or v sexy Jack Savage in Outlandia by Georgia Angelis

  42. Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye and/or Cal Trask in East of Eden. 🙂

  43. Holden – Catcher in the Rye

  44. I’d like to see him play Justin in the book Infinite days. 🙂

  45. I know that he probably won’t do another series but if he did I would love to see him play the character Henery in The Luxe series.

  46. Michael in Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers.

  47. i’d love to see rob play roland the gunslinger in the stephen king dark tower series. i mean who wouldn’t want to see rob in leather chaps?!?!?!

  48. Sorry to have to state the obvious but one day Rob WILL play James Bond!

  49. Rodion Raskolnikov

  50. Morelli from stephanie plum series

  51. Tom Jones by Henry Fielding; Pierre in War and Peace by Leon Tolstoy; Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott; Rochester in Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, just to name a few.

  52. Ash from The Far Pavilions by M.M. Kaye

    He likes elephants…he’s British…he’s perfect.

Daniel Sempere from The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Barney Snaith from The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

  53. I’m a huge Skulduggery Pleasant fan, so I think it would be cool if he either:
Did the voice for Skulduggery or
Played Serpine – bad ass Rob 🙂

  54. Jude from Thomas Hardy’s Jude the Obscure ; Jacques in Raymond Radiguet’s La diable au corps (The Devil in the Flesh); Julien Sorel in Stendahl’s Le rouge et le noir (The red and the black). And so many, many other characters….

  55. Classics
    • F.Dostoyevsky
“The Brothers Karamazov” – Ivan Karamazov or Alyosha Karamazov (both very challenging and absolutely polar.)
“The Idiot”- Prince Lev Nikolayevich Myshkin (maybe later, with more experience to come)
Yeah, that’s a challenge! Many an actor has broken his teeth on these roles. By the way, Russian classics is often misinterpreted in the west. There are cross-cultural differences that often go unnoticed, and make the western interpretation unacceptable in Russia and vice versa, e.g. “Quiet Flows the Don” (2006) or “War and Peace” (2007).

    Classics of the 20th century
    • F. Scott Fitzgerald
“The Great Gatsby” — Nick Carraway
“Tender is the Night” – Dick Diver
    • E.Hemingway
“Farewell to Arms” — Frederic Henry
    • S. Maugham
    “Theatre” – Tom
    • Bertolt Brecht
“Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder” – Eilif (And it’s also a real challenge for the director)
    • Jorge Amado
“Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos” – Vadinho

    More

    • Maria Ernestam
“Caipirinha med Döden” (Caipirinha with Death) — Death (On the whole, the book is worth filming)
“Kleopatras kam” (Cleopatra’s Comb) – Fredrik
    • Poul Anderson
“The Man Who Came Early” – Gerald
    • Heinlein
“Stranger in a Strange Land” — Valentine Michael Smith
    • James Hadley Chase
“A Lotus for Mis Quon” – Jaffe

  56. Love reading all of your comments!

  57. Des Grieux from the french novel “Manon Lescaut”…that story is amazing!

  58. I know there’s not a single book about Robin Hood, but what Guy Gisborne he could make!

And Lancelot in “The Dragon” by Yevgeny Schwartz (http://www.amazon.com/Golden-Soviet-Theatre-Penguin-Classics/dp/0140184074/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1282149430&sr=1-1-spell) !

  59. Then I go off topic too: I want him to see in the part Ewan McGregor is playing in Moulin Rouge!

  60. I agree with seeing him play Jamie Fraser from “Outlander”. He’s perfect. Jamie is an aubrn haired 18th century Scottish warrior. I would definitely see that one!

  61. And think of S.King “The Long Walk”. I wonder why it’s not been filmed yet. I we forget about characters being teenagers and bend this point a little, I think he would be great as Stebbins or Garraty, though Stebbins would be better.

  62. I’d love to see him as Edward Rochester from Jane Eyre ‘coz I adore this character ❤ …but I think he will be good as Mr Darcy from Pride&Prejudice as well!:)
