We woke up this morning to devastating images from Japan. As many of you know Japan was hit by an 8.9 earthquake that generated a major tsunami. Part of the country is devastated and the death toll is rising as I type these words.  Our hearts and thoughts are with the people of Japan right now.

Fandom Fights Tsunami has started a site for Fanfic authors and readers from ALL fandoms (Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Twilight, etc…) If you’re an author or read FF go to their site. With proof of a 5$ donation to the Red Cross you will get a compilation of stories from a multitude of authors. You can visit their site here and follow them on twitter here.

Below you’ll find information on how you can help or links that will help you to try to find loved ones that are missing.

The US Department of State is urging all American citizens in Japan to contact their families via telephone or social medias (Twitter, Facebook or e-mail) as soon as they can. They can also e-mail JapanEmergencyUSC@state.gov

    I am From Chile, we have an alert for the Tsunami that the earthquake of Japan generate it.

    Dichato have trouble again today.

    We had and earthquake 8.8 February 27, 2010 and Tsunami. Dichato was devasted then and now they had a mini Tsunami today, destroy some emergency home and mini boats (fish JOb).

    We don’t have the tecnology or the strengh of Japan, but we know what they are suffer and the aftermath.
    In my city still are people and places that they still haven’t recovery of the tragedy, me include.

    Please help Japan if you can.

    These kind of tragedy are awful, we lost our houses, jobs, friends and some lose their family too. Now we are in poverty. But my family and are we are lucky now we have a place to live, some of my compatriot still don’t because our earthquake and Tsunami.

    But we are reunit money for American Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.

    Please do the the same

    we are reunit money for American Red Cross’ Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund but I don´t know if that the same name of the Fund, but it is for Japan trought the bank account that my goverment have post in the news channel.

  6. i have friends who live in fukushima, japan – directly where the earthquake and later tsunami hit – its a family of five, parents with three children/teenagers and i still have not heard of their condition at this point.. im continuously using the people finder that you have linked here but still nothing.. their last name is aikawa and please please please pray for them for me.. it would mean alot. thank you.

      A person we know has her entire family in Sendai and she hasn’t heard back from them yet.
