Indiewire: First Bel Ami Review From The Berlin Film Festival 1 comment
Indiewire Thompson on Hollywood: It makes perfect sense that Rob Pattinson would continue his attempts to broaden his fan base as the “Twilight” franchise nears its end. Starring in a new film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel “Bel Ami” certainly advances that project: playing Georges Duroy, an unscrupulous ex-soldier who makes his way up the ladder of Parisian high society by seducing the wives of powerful men, adds a few strings to his bow. (Sony Pictures Classics will release the film stateside on March 2.)
Duroy is unscrupulous, self-absorbed and nakedly ambitious, but has enough sexual magnetism to further his career by talking his way into some of the city’s most opulent bedrooms. Pattinson is thus involved in screen liaisons with actresses old enough to be mothers to “Twilight”’s core audience. It’s a leap of sorts, and not without its risks.

According to Bravo.de a new Bel Ami clip is to be shown at Berlinale before the premiere.
From google translate: “For all fans, not seeing”Bel Ami” during the Berlinale, there is a small consolation: Before the premiere, a new clip from the movie will be released. On 26 April “Bel Ami” is then in our cinemas.”
There’s a good chance it’ll be a clip from the footage we’ve posted before, but we’ll see.

Christina Ricci Talks About Robert Pattinson to The Sunday Times 2 comments
Christina Ricci is profiled in the Style section of London’s The Sunday Times today, in which she briefly mentions Rob:
“Based on the 1885 French novel by Guy de Maupassant, it stars the Twilight pin-up Robert Pattinson as Georges Duroy, an ambitious, amoral former soldier and social climber who ruthlessly seduces every woman who wanders into his life. Ricci plays Clotilde de Marelle, who becomes his mistress, while his other creamy conquests include Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Holliday Grainger.
She stopped short of offering her co-star, the much-hyped R-Patz, any tips about the tricky transition to adult movies. “Oh, he doesn’t need any help from me,” she raises her eyebrows. “He is doing just fine.”
