Robert Pattinson on Forbes ‘Hollywood’s best actors for the buck’ list   3 comments

From Forbes:

Robert Pattinson ranks 4th with a $31.70 return for every dollar he is paid. Pattinson’s other movies this year, Bel Ami and Cosmopolis, weren’t released in enough theaters to count for this list. TheTwilight films have grossed $3.3 billion at the global box office and the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2, is still in theaters. The only other film we looking at for Pattinson was Water for Elephants which grossed $118 million at the global box office on a $38 million budget.

To compile our list, we used data on actors’ earnings gathered for our Celebrity 100 list. Box office grosses and budget estimates are from Box Office Mojo. We looked at the last three films each actor starred in over the last three years that opened in more than 2,000 theaters, calculating the return on investment for the studios who pay his (or her) salary. We didn’t count movies where the actor was in a supporting or large ensemble role and we didn’t count animated movies. The actors who score well on this list tend to have small paydays and star in highly profitable movies.

Robert Pattinson on Forbes’ The Top Grossing Actors of 2012 List   4 comments

From Forbes:

Robert Pattinson

$793 million
Like costar Kristen Stewart, most of Pattinson’s gross comes from the final Twilight movie. But unlike Stewart, Pattinson didn’t have another successful film this year to boost his numbers. His two non-Twilight films, Cosmopolis and Bel Ami, earned only $14 million between them.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart #3 on Forbes ‘Hollywood War of the Wages’ List   7 comments

Robert Pattinson vs. Kristen Stewart (#3)
Robert Pattinson: $20 million
Kristen Stewart: $20 million

The Twilight stars earn the same on their franchise movies and tie on our list. If Stewart’s upcoming film Snow White and the huntsman is a big hit though she could find herself outearning Pattinson next year.

The highly successful Twilight series has earned $2.5 billion at the box office so far and at this point, co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart earn the same amount for starring in each film. Despite the fact that Pattinson has been busier, with films like Water for Elephants, because of the timing for when he got paid for the movie each Twilight star earned the same amount of money between May 2010 and May 2011: $20 million. With the big Universal film Snow White and the Huntsman slated to hit theaters this summer, Stewart is likely to pull ahead of Pattinson.

No. 3 Robert Pattinson -For every $1 Pattinson is paid, his films earn an average of $39.43.
The Twilight star ranks lower than Kristen Stewart because he’s been busy. Only one of his Twilight films, Eclipse, qualifies for the list. The other films we looked at for Pattinson were Water for Elephants and Remember Me.

Full list here Hollywood’s Best Actors for the Buck

To compile our list we used information gathered for the Celebrity 100 to look at the last three non animation movies each actor starred in over that last three years. We added each actor’s upfront and backend pay on all three movies to come up with a total compensation number. We then added up the operating income of the three movies to come up with a total operating income number and then divided total operating income by total compensation. Each return on investment number represents how much the studio is paid for every dollar invested in the star.

Robert Pattinson on Forbes ‘Hollywood’s Highest Earning Actors’ List   6 comments

From Forbes:

Robert Pattinson
$20 million
The Twilight star branched out recently with Water for Elephants, which costarred Reese Witherspoon. The film did OK but its box office was a drop in the bucket compared to the Twilight films. With two movies left, expect Pattinson to keep earning big for the next two years.

Robert Pattinson on Forbes’ List of Best-Paid Celebrities Under 30   1 comment

From Forbes

With the end of the Twilight franchise in sight, Pattinson is preparing himself for a post-vampire career. The romance Remember Me earned only $56 million but that’s not bad considering the film had a tiny budget of $16 million. Water for Elephants, costarring Reese Witherspoon, also performed decently at the box office proving that audiences are willing to accept Pattinson as more than an undead heartthrob.

Forbes Article – Rob Ranks 50th on Forbes Celebrity 100 List   2 comments

“The films also created three insanely popular movie stars: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Pattinson makes his debut on the Forbes Celebrity 100 this year in 50th place with $17 million in earnings. Most of that is from the Twilight films where he plays vampire Edward Cullen. But Pattinson also starred in the film Remember Me, which was a modest success at the box office, and he’ll appear in the film adaptation of Water for Elephants opposite Reese Witherspoon in 2011.”

“Both stars were paid relatively little for their initial work on the films but they have become indispensable to the Twilight franchise. That means they can both ask for pay raises for upcoming movies. The final book, Breaking Dawn, will be split into two films, which will give Stewart and Pattinson the opportunity to double their upfront pay for their final Twilight work.”
