From RP Life:

Rough translation vy tiny_pixy at Pattinsonlife

– with every job he does he hopes to learn something out of it
– when you’re in your 20’s you think that all your emotions and everything you feel is fake but then you realize that they are real and everything starts to change
– especially young people have this need to break something or create chaos(i think he actually says “do something crazy”, they translated it a little weird) but very few people act like that, although the world needs that energy.
– they ask him what kinda relationship he has to Kristen and apparently he says “I don’t know anything about it”, you can hear that he says something different.

Emilie de Ravin Speaks About Remember Me, Robert Pattinson and Filming in NYC   1 comment

With her new film, Emilie de Ravin has hit the jackpot. Not only does she get to cavort in steamy scenes with heartthrob du jour Robert Pattinson (OMG! RPattz!) in Remember Me, but she gets to bask in the heat of a talked-about movie that, without Pattinson’s involvement, may have been another under-the-radar romantic drama.

Pattinson’s first project since the unprecedented success of the Twilight films sees him as an angry rich kid – sans creepy vampire makeup – who falls in love with a ballsy young philosophy student, played by de Ravin. At 28 – five years Pattinson’s senior – she is still girlish enough to pass for 21.

You’ll most likely recognise the Australian actress de Ravin as the young mother Claire in Lost (currently in its explosive sixth series on Sky1), but her association with Pattinson has catapulted her into the celebrity weeklies.

When we meet in New York, where the film is set, a blizzard is raging outside the hotel window. Like Pattinson, she seems embarrassed about her success, shrugging off compliments and rolling her eyes at talk of fans and paparazzi. “I get recognised,” she says with a dismissive wave, “but I’m not the sort of person who frequents popular clubs. I try to keep out of that.”

De Ravin is part of a new breed of celebrity – like Pattinson and his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart – who shun the glamour and adulation that many see as a perk of the job. When de Ravin slouched onto the red carpet at the London premiere of Remember Me recently, grinning awkwardly in her black Oscar de la Renta mini-dress, she and Pattinson looked as though they would rather be anywhere else.

Despite their ‘I’m-so-normal’ façade, journalists are warned not to ask about their private lives on pain of death. A hovering publicist peers up from her BlackBerry at the mere hint of a personal question to de Ravin (it could be worse: no less than three handlers accompany Pattinson during his interview). But this much we know: she married the American actor Josh Janowicz in June 2006 after being together for four years. The couple separated last year, but are rumoured to have reunited.

“Love is such an objective thing,” she says, in a suitably vague answer to a necessarily vague question about love. “I mean, I can say I love my family, or I love my Diet Coke,” she continues, gesturing towards her Coke can. “So I guess, in different ways, yeah, I do believe in love.”

But in terms of relationships?

“It’s different with every person. It depends if it… clicks. It’s chemistry.”

Either way, if she’s in love when we meet, there is no ring on her finger. Of course she was romantically linked to Pattinson during filming, but RPattz could star opposite Ellen DeGeneres and there would be rumours. Having said that, the young stars’ on-screen chemistry is undeniable. Viewers will be surprised to learn they met just one week before filming commenced.

“She’s really cool,” says Pattinson, pushing back his James Dean-esque mane, when we meet later that afternoon. “She was actually the last girl we saw and she was cast on the day of her audition, so we went straight out to a bar. It was so close to filming that we didn’t have time to rehearse. But she got it right from the beginning, so it was easy.”

De Ravin agrees that the best preparation was getting to know each other. “Our relationship in the film is intense,” she nods. “We spent a lot of time together, talking about our characters and their relationship, because it’s so important to be comfortable together. Then, when we were actually shooting, everything fell into place and felt natural. It didn’t ever feel like we were reading a scene or going through the motions.”

Watching Pattinson brooding or de Ravin screaming at her on-screen father (Chris Cooper), I have to ask: did they manage to have any fun on set?

“If you’re getting ready to do a really emotional scene then, right before it, you’re probably not going to be outside playing basketball,” she shrugs. “But everybody involved was passionate about it so there was a good vibe.”

Having not spent much time in New York before landing the role, de Ravin has now fallen in love with the city. “New York is a character in the film,” she smiles, either not noticing or not caring what a cliché that is. “It was great to be able to walk around the city on days off. And it’s so rare to be able to shoot in the real locations. When we have dinner, we were actually in The Oak Room and when we were doing a scene in the house Ally [her character] grew up in, that was in Queens.”

Of course, the downside of shooting around the city is that Twilight fans and paparazzi had easy access to locations.

“It was distracting at times,” admits de Ravin. “We shot 90 per cent on location in Manhattan or Queens so it was very accessible. It’s not like they can close down Central Park. So it was difficult for Rob and I to figure out the logistics of a rehearsal when you’ve got thousands of people watching. Even if you’re not looking at them, you’re aware of it. It can be hard to focus.”

So there you go: Emilie de Ravin is a study in laid-back cool. One of that frustrating breed of beautiful I-just-rolled-out-of-bed-and-this-is-how-I-look people. A lot like Robert Pattinson in fact. So, when she was filming scenes with RPattz, who spent the most time on their hair?

She explodes with laughter: “Oh come on! Totally Rob,” she grins, before shaking her head at the ridiculousness of the question and, more seriously, adding, “Neither one of us really did much. It was just like… ” she mimes messing up her hair with devil-may-care nonchalance.

Then she shrugs again.

Bobby Long Speaks About Robert Pattinson in an Interview With LimeLife   6 comments

The singer/songwriter talks sudden stardom, American girls and the dangers of being friends with Robert Pattinson.

Did you think Robert Pattinson was the only cute Brit who shies away from interviews? Last week in New York we caught up with singer/songwriter Bobby Long, a Twilight soundtrack crooner, longtime friend of Robert Pattinson and member of the ever-higher-profile „Brit Pack“ that also includes actors/musicians/longtime Pattinson mates Tom Sturridge, Sam Bradley and Marcus Foster. Bobby Long is preparing to release his first studio album this summer, and if it’s anything like he says it is, then you want to start downloading Bobby Long now.

Bobby Long’s “Let Me Sign“ for Twilight and “Who Have You Been Loving?“ from his first album Dirty Pond Songs have put him on the map in mainstream music and in front of, yep, gaggles of female audiences who are screaming to ride the British boy bandwagon. In the basement of New York’s famed Mercury Lounge, we thought Bobby Long couldn’t get any more candid…until he climbed onstage.

LimeLife: Bobby, most of us grew aware of you after you penned “Let Me Sign“ for the Twilight soundtrack a couple years ago. What have you been up to since then?
Bobby Long: I just got finished recording my first album and I’m really happy with it, so I’m looking forward to getting it out there. I mean, I don’t know how big it’s going to be but I’m really proud of it. I think people are going to respect it.

LimeLife: What’s the name of the album?
Bobby Long: I don’t have a name yet. I’ve gotten finished mixing it, so I’m thinking of names at the moment. It’ll be coming out in summer.

LimeLife: That seems like good timing, considering your affiliation with the Twilight series and the fact that Eclipse releases in June. People seem to know you best from Twilight
Bobby Long: Yeah, yeah.

LimeLife: So was that recognition some of the strategy behind the scheduling of the album’s release?
Bobby Long: No, no, not at all actually. I kind of got that opportunity to have that song in the film and since then I’ve been kind of steering myself away from it.

LimeLife: Have you really?
Bobby Long: Yeah. I’ve been on tour [for the last few months] and I haven’t really done any kind of Twilight events. I’ve used the opportunity to kind of make my own opportunities out of it. I don’t really know with going on with [Twilight]. The only thing I know is that I had a song in it. That’s all I know.

LimeLife: Our audience at LimeLife is a lot of female adults.
Bobby Long: So they all love that film.

LimeLife: (laughter) Many of them, yes. And ever since we heard “Let Me Sign“ in it, your name just continues to stay in the news. I know you’re good friends with Robert Pattinson, and two weeks ago he was jokingly shouting your name for Marcus Foster to play some Bobby Long.
Bobby Long: The funniest thing about that right, is just that… it’s just a few mates joking around. All that was is just Rob enjoying himself at his mate’s show, right. Like, before my show, a mutual friend will shout out, “Play a Marcus Foster song“ or “Play a Sam Bradley song“ or something…like, “Play a song by Cher.“

(More laughter erupts around the Mercury Lounge basement.)

Bobby Long: It’s just winding each other up. It’s just a friendly thing. And then Rob’s getting criticized for it.

LimeLife: I don’t think it was criticism. It was just a fun story when we reported on it.
Bobby Long: But the comments on it! He hasn’t been criticized by the media, but criticized by people. I read [one comment], it said, “He’s a bastard.“ It’s just like, “Oh, f*ck off.” That kind of stuff is funny. I just laugh. It’s something to show your nan, that’s all it is, then you get back to your day job. It’s just funny that someone reports that and sends it off, that someone spent 15 minutes of their life reporting it.

LimeLife: Oh, for sure…I did! So are people recognizing you yet?
Bobby Long: Um, I mean, yeah. Me and my girlfriend were in Starbucks in London and we were kind of arguing (laughs). And I got this message from somebody, “I saw you in Starbucks but I didn’t want to interrupt.“ That was weird. And I occasionally get stuff like that, people walking up or bumping into me and stuff. I don’t know how I’d deal with it. As long as people come to my shows, then it’s great. I’m fairly approachable, but it does frighten me a bit. But I don’t think it’s ever gonna get like that. If it does I’ll move to Mexico or something.

LimeLife: Oh right, like that would help! Can you attribute your degree of success up to this point to any particular entity or person or party?
Bobby Long: I mean, at the end of the day everyone needs a break, and my break stemmed from that film [Twilight]. At the moment I owe a lot to that film. I’ll always owe a lot to that film because it gave me my platform, but since then, everyone behind me who helps out has been amazing: my manager, my press lady, agents…everyone needs credit for just kind of continuing to push things forward. It’s one thing to be faced with an opportunity, but you have to keep it going; that’s the most important thing. Opportunities arise all the time, but the real thing is to try and develop it. To be able to sit here a year later [after the first album] and things are still cascading-without even a release [for the second albumb] is a really amazing thing. I managed to finance my own album from touring so much. We worked really hard. I was on tour for seven months straight. It was the most amazing experience of my life, but when I got home and had a week off, I didn’t quite realize how tired I was.

LimeLife: It’s going to turn into pandemonium soon — based on the audience that’s waiting to see you tonight, the fans are going crazy. They’re lined up around the corner, and they’re mostly female. So which do you prefer, British girls or American girls?
Bobby Long: Person to person, it’s different. I can’t really say…there’s great people on both sides.

CBS's Interview With Robert Pattinson at the BAFTAs   4 comments

You won’t see heartthrob Robert Pattinson spending money on extravagant homes or fancy cars or flitting from one red carpet to another.

“That’s not my scene,” he told me at the recent BAFTA Award ceremony in London. I’m more than happy to do the normal things and buy the things I bought before all this madness kicked off.”

In fact, the 23-year-old actor, known among British media as “Our Patz,” said he was stunned to open the tabloids and find pictures of himself “buying underwear at my local store.”

“These guys must be hiding in the rails or something,” he said of the paparazzi. The star of the “Twilight” movies, born in West London, said, “I didn’t go into acting because I wanted to be famous, I got into acting because I loved the creation and the making of good credible drama. Fame is just an extra added on.”

Back in London to film “Bel Ami” with “Kill Bill” star Uma Thurman, Pattinson admits that he is unsure of what to do at premieres and other red carpet events. “Although I like meeting fans and love the response from them,” he said, “I’m far happier going down to my local pub, having a drink and sitting chatting to friends. That’s when I’m most relaxed.”

Pattinson also expressed admiration for his “Remember Me” co-star Pierce Brosnan, known to audiences for many years as cinema’s James Bond.

“You get to learn so much from these people,” Pattinson said, “and Pierce has always been an acting hero of mine.”

The Eagle Tribune: A Q&A with 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson   1 comment

A Q&A with ‘Twilight’ star Robert Pattinson

By John Anderson
Newsday

NEW YORK — There are stars, there are idols, and there are the squeal-worthy — the guys you merely have to mention for girls to explode with ecstasy, glee and a certain amount of misery.

Such is Robert Pattinson, the 23-year-old English actor who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” series, and who turns out to be a very gentle and seemingly normal guy. His between-ghoul gig, alas, is playing the conflicted Tyler Roth in the Allen Coulter-directed drama “Remember Me,” which opened March 12.

He recently took some time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions about his latest film and his blood-sucking alter ego:

Q. Did you pick this project just to counter your Edward Cullen image?

A. That was one of the reasons. But there was also something different about the script that stayed with me. It was odd — you wonder why it was written, what happened to the writer, what elements are true. And it seemed like I could spend the summer in New York and it would be really nice after all the pandemonium.

Q. Pierce Brosnan, who plays your father, was James Bond for four films; you’ve got a four-film franchise. You ever talk about that?

A. Not really, but he was great, zero pretense, completely comfortable in his own skin. The first time we went out to dinner, there were people at another table looking at him, so he went over and introduced himself and suddenly everyone was much more comfortable.

Q. They were looking at him and not you?

A. They had no idea who I was. It was an old French restaurant on the Upper West Side. Someone said, “Is this your son?” And Pierce said, “Yes! This is my son. …” He was really fun to work with.

Q. There are only four “Twilight” novels; the third film comes out in June. It seems like you’re in the homestretch.

A. That’s why I was never particularly worried. They’ll do the last one at the end of the year, and that’s it. Done. And because I didn’t start when I was really a kid, I don’t feel like I’m losing anything or selling my childhood. It’s such a funny thing to have gone through. It’s such a supernova. It exploded so quickly, and then it’s finished.

Q. How do you refashion yourself after that?

A. I’m making “Bel Ami,” which is based on a Guy de Maupassant novel. I play a con man who seduces his way up the social ladder, betrays everybody. Anybody who does him a favor, he stabs in the back, and then he gets rewarded for it in the end. He’s a real menace to society. It’s a completely different experience from what I’ve done before.
