“Water for Elephants” co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson had a busy day on Sunday.
The gorgeous pair spent most of the day conducting press interviews for their stunning new period romance, then were headed to Las Vegas immediately after to present an award at the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards.
However, the beautiful blonde said she and R-Pattz had plans to scrap the quick flight in exchange for a rough ‘n’ tumble road trip.
“We’re actually going to drive,” Reese jokingly told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the “Water for Elephants” junket in Santa Monica, Calif., on Sunday, of her and Robert’s impending jaunt to Sin City for the awards. “I’ve got a six-pack and he’s bringing the cigarettes. We’re going to rage like, with an iPod. I’m going to blast the country music – he’s super-duper into it.”
“Damn it — we said it!” Robert added, playing along.
Although the Oscar winning actress married her fiancé, Jim Toth, just one week ago, she’s had to postpone her honeymoon for the time being due to her busy work schedule – but Robert revealed Reese doesn’t mind.
“This is a honeymoon,” Robert answered for Reese, laughing.
“This is a honeymoon! Come on — in here with all of you?” Reese added, laughing. “I will be on my honeymoon soon, and none of you are invited.
“Rob wants to go with me [on the honeymoon] — he’s hinted all day,” Reese told Shaun. “And I have to say, ‘No, you can’t come…’ He’s needed on the set.”
Shaun also confronted Reese with a little known onscreen connection between her and her “Twilight” hunk co-star – the two actually worked together, as mother and son, on Reese’s 2004 drama, “Vanity Fair,” but Robert was left on the cutting room floor.
“Go ahead – tell her,” Reese grimaced.
“Reese played my grandmother,” Robert deadpanned.
“It was bad enough – I played his mother in a movie,” Reese laughed.
“I got cut out of it and she looked like a 15-year-old at the time,” Robert told Shaun. “I didn’t understand what was going on at the time while we were shooting it, and then I was invited to the premiere and I was cut out of it.”
Robert Pattinson later confessed that the kiss “didn’t work,” but there are legions of “Twilight” fans who would surely disagree. That smooch with Kristen Stewart, after all, might just be the closest any fan will ever get to seeing the duo lock lips in a setting where they’re not pretending to be Forks, Washington, lovebirds.
It all went down at the MTV Movie Awards in June of last year, when Pattinson and Stewart took the stage to accept the Golden Popcorn statue for Best Kiss and ended up, awkwardly and charmingly, kissing onstage. The moment immediately became one of the most memorable in Movie Awards history, so it’s no surprise that it’s also one of our favorite RPattz moments — a top-five list we’re counting down before the debut of “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” this Friday at 8:56 p.m. ET.
To fully understand the kiss, we’ve got to flash back to 2009, when the actors won their first Best Kiss award. Pattinson leaned into the mic and announced that he had to take the gum out of his mouth. He and KStew stared at each other as if readying for a kiss. They closed their eyes, leaned in, brushed noses — but that’s as close as they’d get. “Thank you so much!” Stewart declared, before they scampered backstage.
A year later, they found themselves back onstage, once again accepting the Best Kiss win. “So I guess the thing to do — we’re supposed to kiss each other,” Stewart said. “But to be perfectly honest with you, it takes a lot of smoke and mirrors to make us look good kissing. We don’t want to let you guys down. We’ll give it a shot.”
Much like the year before, they seemed to be teasing the audience with the prospect of a Robsten kiss without actually delivering one. Until they did. And the Twi-verse imploded. That didn’t stop Pattinson from telling us afterward that he wasn’t all that pleased with how things went.
“I had the best ideas last night,” he told us backstage. “And I was telling everyone, ‘Listen, just leave it to me, I’ve got it all under control.’ I was telling everyone all these ideas. I gave them a whole selection and no one thought they were funny, so then we ended up doing something which didn’t work.”
RPattz may not have loved the way things turned out, but the onstage bit they went with sounded a lot better than some of those other ideas of his.”He wanted to be hula-hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula-hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other,” Stewart told us later. “It didn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me. I was like, ‘I can’t juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.’ “

He also talked about the duck sweater.
Fans want to know: what is the story behind the duck sweater?
“I like it. I found it somewhere. It’s a bit cold so I wear a sweater sometimes.”

JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT has landed her dream job – she has been hired to cover the red carpet at the final TWILIGHT movie premiere for TV show ACCESS HOLLYWOOD.
The die hard fan revealed she has yet to meet Twilight hero Robert Pattinson after he snubbed her at a photo signing, and now TV bosses have stepped in to make her wish come true.
Appearing on Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday (01Feb11), the actress told host Billy Bush, “I actually waited in line to take a picture of him (Pattinson) after the very first premiere for, like, an hour and 15 minutes and, as I got up to take my picture, they were like, ‘Robert, are you tired?’ He’s like, ‘Yes’, and he left.”
But then Bush offered her the job of a lifetime, asking Hewitt if she’d be interested in reporting on the red carpet at the next Twilight premiere.
Thrilled Hewitt screamed and said, “Are you kidding? Really…? Oh my God… This is amazing… I’m gonna get (vampire) teeth… I’m gonna get him (Pattinson) to sit on my lap.”
Here’s the translation of an ‘exclusive’ interview with Robert Pattinson for a special magazine for Eclipse. The magazine contains 6 posters of Rob, Kristen and Taylor (some together, some solo) and one theater-sized Movie poster. Some of the questions/answers are definitely not new (some were even funny and I even wonder if they’re true), but I still wanted to share it with you:

I did not like the way new moon was hyped!
As vampire Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson did not only conquer the heart of his movie-romance Bella Swan. We had a private conversation with the 24-year-old actor.
