Special Olympics Southern California celebrated its 14th Annual Pier Del Sol event Sunday, all to benefit an organization that has helped some 13,000 athletes during the past 13 years.
In a Silent Auction heavy on sports memorabilia and spa packages, a tribute to the “Twilight” series hysteria was the highlight. A five-foot long red wool cloak featured in the film and autographed by the film’s stars (including Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) spurred envious gasps from young girls and bidding was intense among heavily-lobbied parents. For the losers, consolation bid items included a framed poster signed by 15 of the film’s actors.

“[Robert] Pattinson won’t be voicing any characters on the Special. Who will? How about the boy who lived!? That’s right, NYmag.com reports, Daniel Radcliffe will be voicing “a sullen teenage vampire named Edmund.” Looks like there is more healthy competition between Harry Potter and Twilight!
The Simpsons Halloween Special, a television tradition, will air on Fox November 7th with Lisa falling for Edmund. “

VF: Do you follow the Twilight series?
PW: “No, I have only seen a few scenes. But I have to thank Twilight because it gave me a job without Robert Pattinson and his films, I do not think that the Vampire Diaries would have been produced”
Ian Somerhalder (Damon in the show) has said the same thing before
Ian: “Twilight is a huge phenomenon, quite possibly and inarguably, yes, we have a show because of it”

Talent-spotting is an unreliable art, but Caine still likes to have a go. He’s not terribly excited by the current crop of vampire antiheroes.
“They all look the same … very slight dark young men with very bright eyes and pale skin. But I’m sure some of them will develop into big stars – the boy [Robert] Pattinson will, I’m sure.”
