From E!Online:
Twilightâs Elizabeth Reaser feels for Robert Pattinson. She really does.
The obsessive fandemonium surrounding R.Pattz canât be easy.
âItâs a complicated situation,â Reaser, who plays Esme in the Twiâfranchise, told me while at Sundanceâs Bing Bar to promote indie flick Homework. âIf youâre going to be an actor and you donât want to do dinner theater and you want to do movies like this, itâs a crazy risk.â
She continued, âI know for me, you want people to watch you tell stories. Thereâs some part of you that is somewhat of an exhibitionist⌠Iâm not saying you want people to chase you down the street screaming and attacking you, but itâs a price you have to pay, I think.â
As for that steamy BD photo of Rob and Kristen Stewart, Reaser laughed, âAt least everyone knows: OK, people are naked. Just in case the frenzy was dying down, just in case no one cared, hereâs a naked picture of Rob and Kristen.â

Hello fans!
Has it really been five months (and a day) since my last dispatch? Â In my defense, they’ve been five months spent immersed in the world of TWILIGHT – something I’m sure you can all appreciate. Â We’re in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go, but I do want to take a moment to announce to you exclusively a few of the amazing production team members who are hard at work alongside me, bringing these movies to life. Â I hope you’ll be as excited about them as I am:
Guillermo Navarro, who won an Academy Award for the beautiful PAN’S LABYRINTH, is our cinematographer. Â Guillermo and I have been painstakingly planning each shot, with a team of very talented storyboard artists.
Michael Wilkinson, our costume designer, is bringing his brilliant vision to the styles of all your favorite characters. Â Michael’s created fantastic looks for 300, WATCHMEN, and the upcoming TRON: LEGACY – just wait ’til you see his take on the vampire witnesses who come to Forks from around the globe.
Jean Black, our makeup designer, has worked extensively with the Coen Brothers and David Fincher, most recently making exquisite, award-winning contributions to THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. Â I’m honored to be working with her.
Richard Sherman, with whom I made GODS AND MONSTERS and KINSEY, is on-board as our production designer. Â Richard’s one of my oldest collaborators and a terrific designer, and you may be interested to know that he also happens to be a lifelong vampire aficionado.
Our Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor John Bruno has been responsible for some of the most memorable special effects ever, with his groundbreaking work on display in everything from POLTERGEIST to AVATAR. Â He and his team are working intensely to develop solutions to the host of special effects challenges that Stephenie created for us in BREAKING DAWN, including that remarkable kid…
Wonderful, imaginative people all and very exciting, intense times for us. Â Even with the months of work we’ve already put in, we’re barely underway on the journey, and I do hope to get back to you much sooner next time with more news. Â Until then, thanks for your warm reception and continued support!
Very best regards,
Bill

What we love about James Franco is that, despite pursuing a Ph.D. at Yale, garnering serious Oscar buzz in “127 Hours” and embodying a Hollywood A-list persona, he’s taken time out of his busy schedule to keep up with the trends. That’s right, James has both read and watched the “Twilight” books and films, and when MTV News caught up with him at the Toronto International Film Festival where he was promoting “127 Hours,” he spent more time talking about the phenomenon than the film’s stars typically do.
While he may not be a self-proclaimed Twi-hard after reading the series, James can at least reference Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner on a first name basis (you’d be surprised to find there are celebs out there who can’t), and can clearly understand the deeper metaphors of the stories.
“I wouldn’t say I enjoy them, but I’m fascinated with them,” James said about the books. “I’m interested in the metaphor of the vampire placed in the high school setting and how a relationship with a vampire can stand in for general feelings that people have as teenagers. And the obsession people have with that is also fascinating to me.”
James also took some time analyzing the role of the films in the whole “Twilight” craze. “It’s really hard to extricate those actors from the reading experience of just the phenomenon of ‘Twilight’ now,” he said. He also gave a shout-out to the self-references of “Eclipse” that we loved so much.
“The movies are almost commenting on themselves,” he said. “There will be a scene where the go-to guys, Taylor and Rob, are in the tent, it’s almost like a ‘Brokeback Mountain’ scene, where the two guys are talking in a tent and the girl is asleep, and they’re having, like, this romantic moment almost through her, in a way. One of them says, ‘Well, I’m hotter than you,’ and it’s almost like they’re winking at the fans, like to the Team Jacob or the Team Edwards.”
But he does have one “Twilight” concession to make: He hasn’t finished reading “Breaking Dawn.” He has heard a bit about the birthing scene (“I kind of know what happens, some very strange birth, right?” he asked rhetorically), but at least his reasoning for calling it quits part way through the book matches our own frustrations when we were reading it the first time!
“I read a part of it. I think I got to the sex scene, but it was so brief, I didn’t even know if it was the actual sex scene,” he admitted. “It was kind of a letdown after all that buildup.”
