Gossip Cop: Inside Details from Robert Pattinson Visit to “Ellen”   Leave a comment

Everyone’s favorite vampire, Robert Pattinson, returned to “Ellen” this afternoon to tape an appearance that will air tomorrow.

Gossip Cop has learned some of the visit’s highlights from a source in the studio:

*** An audience member was blindfolded and instructed to “feel up” three guys to guess which one was Pattinson. She got it wrong.

*** Pattinson told the host he begins shooting Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon on Thursday.

*** He jokingly told DeGeneres he got a haircut because he had “nits.” She told him that Americans call them “lice.”

*** Also in jest: Pattinson said People magazine got it wrong — he’s more beautiful than Julia Roberts.

*** Will Smith gave Pattinson advice about presenting at the Oscars: “Don’t try and be funny.” Wait until you’ve done it 6 times.

Gossip Cop has the Official Word on 'Eclipse' Reshoots   Leave a comment

From Gossip Cop:

A report widely disseminated earlier today made big waves by claiming that “key scenes” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse need to be reshot in Vancouver, and speculated that the development indicated production on the June release was troubled.

Gossip Cop looked into it, and we have the exclusive answers.

First, regarding the implication that these reshoots were unexpected, an authorized rep for the studio tells Gossip Cop, “The reshoot was planned for months, like it is with the majority of films.”

Let Gossip Cop settle some other false rumors.

Contrary to today’s inaccurate speculation, “creative differences” have not led Summit to consider bringing in another director for the reshoots.

David Slade is 100% directing them, like he did the entire movie, and the studio is “very happy” with his direction of the film, which internally is believed to be the best of the series.

As for the timing, speculation that there will be three rushed days of 18-hour shoots is incorrect. The Summit rep tells Gossip Cop that it’s a two-and-a-half to three-day shoot, and that “very little” actually has to be reshot.

But the biggest misconception concerned the specific scenes alleged to be those in need of a reshoot. The rep confirms to Gossip Cop, “None of the meadow or action scenes are being reshot.”

Asked to comment on today’s alarmist rumors, the authorized rep for the studio tells Gossip Cop, “Reports much like the one earlier today are ploys to drive traffic without any merit and without any support from the studio on what is actually going on or true.”

Gossip Cop will continue to bring accurate “Eclipse” production news before the film’s June theatrical release.

Report Accurate: Bill Condon Frontrunner to Direct “Breaking Dawn”   1 comment

The current frontrunner to direct “Breaking Dawn” is Bill Condon, Gossip Cop can confirm.

Summit Entertainment has yet to sign Condon to the project, but the studio and director are engaged in a negotiation process that has moved the director to the front of the pack, a rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop, corroborating an earlier Deadline.com report.

Condon previously directed films including Kinsey and Dreamgirls.

Almost as long as the book itself, the saga of who would adapt it for the screen has gone through many twists, including a false rumor Gossip Cop busted claiming Gus Van Sant had already “signed” to do the project, and buzz last week that Michael Mann was a major candidate.

As of now, no final decision has been made.

Gossip Cop will have updates as they break.

Robert Pattinson "Daily Record" Interview A Fabrication   5 comments

Any comments attributed to Robert Pattinson are going to get huge attention, especially with regards to the highly anticipated Bel Ami he’s making with Uma Thurman, and especially if outlets can throw in the word “sex.”

“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing,” Pattinson is quoted as saying to The Daily Record. The comments were quickly (and not surprisingly) picked up everywhere. “[Thurman’s character] kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal,” Pattinson supposedly adds.

Bel Ami is an adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s novel, in which Georges Duroy (Pattinson) is a social climbing journalist and playboy. As Gossip Cop confirmed last month, Christina Ricci has also signed on to the project.

Gossip Cop was told by a source close to Pattinson that the Daily Record interview is a “fabrication.”

The source adds, Pattinson “never spoke to the [Scottish] Daily Record.”

Gossip Cop Busts Rumors of Robert Pattinson as Spider-Man….Again   1 comment

Here we go again.

Dozens of outlets are breathlessly repeating rumors that Robert Pattinson is the leading candidate to replace Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man.

You’ll recall that the story started as an April Fool’s prank later dusted off and published (without context) by the Oh No They Didn’t community. Gossip Cop busted the site and the speculation.

Just a few days ago, though, Sony announced that it would reboot the Spider-Man franchise, letting Maguire and director Sam Raimi go. And once it became clear that there will (eventually) be a new actor in the lead role, blogs anointed Pattinson. Buzz bubbled all the way up to the granddaddy of all cut-and-pasters and gained huge momentum.

Gossip Cop needs to step in.

Yes, there will now be a new Spider-Man, but Robert Pattinson is NOT set to take the part.

Pattinson is committed to a busy upcoming slate that includes Bel Ami, Unbound Captives, and a potential Breaking Dawn production. He’s been wrongly linked to projects ranging from X-Men to Yellow Submarine. The Spidey rumor is no more real.

We’ve spoken with sources close to the studio, which now needs to devise a new identity for the franchise, a new timetable, and a new script. Casting is not yet on the radar.

Any outlet stirring Pattinson into the mix does so with zero factual basis.

Gossip Cop will monitor all “Spider-Man” developments.

Gossip Cop Clears Up Eclipse Screening Rumour   Leave a comment

From Gossip Cop:

Early this morning we started receiving frenzied tips hinting that “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” had test screened for an audience.

The rumors sounded dubious, but Gossip Copwanted to be sure.

Our doubts were well founded.

Gossip Cop has confirmed that Summit Entertainment hasnot shown “Eclipse.” A source connected to the production tells us talk of a screening is “absolutely not true.”

The “testimonials” and other reports being passed among blogs today are not legitimate. No screenings have taken place, nor are the specifics about the release of a theatrical trailer accurate.

Gossip Cop will have much more information when Summit (actually) begins its “Eclipse” campaign.

Gossip Cop debunks Remember Me ending rumour   10 comments

000p7f64

There was a rumour going around the internet and Twitter that Summit had changed the ending to Remember. Thankfully Gossip Cop investigated and the rumour is untrue. (Huge sigh of relief over here)

Here’s the article from Gossip Cop:

Rumors spread online today that Summit Entertainment has elected to change the ending to Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film, “Remember Me.” Gossip Cop does not want to spoil any plot points. But since the alleged alteration was lighting up message boards, we looked into it and asked a source inside Summit for comment.

We were assured by a rep that claims of a major change are “absolutely not true.”

If rumors persist, we will do our best to further clear up any confusion.

Robert Pattinson did NOT co-write Remember Me, per @GossipCop   2 comments

According to @GossipCop, the article about Robert Pattinson in Australian GQ magazine is somewhat confusing.

HQGQ

The problem: “Remember Me seems like a relatively logical next stop for my career. But, still, the only reason I took it is because I have a real personal connection with it. I wrote the script with Jenny Lumet, from an original draft by Will Fetters. Many of the relationships in it are like my relationships with people in my life. And so it’s kind of a little personal thing.”

However, at Cannes, Rob stated that Remember Me was “one of the few scripts I’ve read where you finish and realize you didn’t really want it to end … I have no qualms in saying that Jenny is a genius … I went up to her house one weekend and we all hung out there and just chatted about the script and [they] asked me what I wanted from it. She worked on the draft and about a week later she delivered this script. She’d captured little bits of my voice and all the inflections and mannerisms I have.”

Gossip Cop debunks another Rob rumour   1 comment

Can I just say L….M…F…A…O…. at this rumour. Not sure who came up with it, but seriously, Rob on steroids? SERIOUSLY? Bwahahahaha. I wonder what’s going to pop up next. This is getting hilarious.

Here is Gossip Cop’s article:

Showbiz Spy and others are reporting today that Kristen Stewart has denied Robert Pattinson uses steroids.

Well, that’s a relief . . . wait, what???

Gossip Cop follows all things “Twilight” pretty closely, but can’t recall EVER hearing accusations that the British heartthrob was, as they say, ‘on the juice.’ So it was suspicious when outlets today began to pick up quotes that Stewart “recently” gave reporters, supposedly about Pattinson’s body. “Yes, he’s jacked. It’s absolutely crazy,” the actress said, adding, “He’s definitely not on steroids.”
