*UPDATE* moved to the top because of added translation

(thanks to @DebbieDuroy – via a member of RPattinson fanpage)

With a little help from Google Translate, seems like this interview is a compilation of other Dior promo interviews we’ve read so far, but with a few new questions. There are 3 new questions.

*SCANS* Robert Pattinson in ‘Faces’ Magazine – New Quotes (Switzerland)   Leave a comment

New Quotes:

About shooting the scene on the beach:
“The whole bumper fell off; it was wild (laughing)!”

About linking memories with certain smells:
“I remember my dad wearing Brut de Fabergé. He still has it, and it reminds me of my early school days.”

About linking cities or countries with certain smells:
“My dad is from Yorkshire. There are moors/swamps and heather everywhere – the smell is incredible. We used to spend Christmas there, and although I haven’t been there for years, this smell stayed with me somehow.”

About his favorite smell:
“I like the smell of people (laughing).” (Then he talks about discovering perfume when he was 12 years old.)

About his perfect day:
“I can’t tell exactly, I like to occupy myself with things. At the moment, I’m working on a story with a friend. I like to talk to people and work on projects with them. And I like to argue with people every now and then (laughing).”

He talks about Death Grips being his favorite band right now.

He talks about his clothing style (we heard about that before in other interviews; nothing new there).

Last question: Twilight made you famous, Cosmopolis changed your Image and Romain Gavras’ campagne film for Dior gives your charakter something unexpected. How sweet ist the smell of success?
“Being an actor is weird and the definition of success (…) changes over the years. Of course there is a sweet side to success: I don’t have to worry or to work only for money, at least for the next few years. I have a huge respect of all these movies, that’s why I try to take the time and energy to make these exciting decisions not everyone makes. (…) But I don’t feel I’ve already been that successful. There’s something about Dior that suits me: The brand is staying persistently independent and that’s what I want for myself right now.”

Preview of Robert Pattinson’s interview in ‘Sport & Style’   1 comment

Here’s a preview of Robert Pattinson’s interview in the French magazine Sport & Style

Robert Pattinson ‘I wanted to be a musician’

Fond of boxing, British Rob Pattinson is inspired by the noble art’s codes of honor and Arsenal’s elegance to manage his career. Meeting in Los Angeles with the new face of Dior Homme fragrance.”

Sprawled on the sofa of the suite 111 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Hollywood, eyes unfocused, Rob Pattinson is obviously tired. The blame to a party that lasted late the night before. However, he welcomes his guests with respect and sincerity leaping suddenly to his feet. Backwards Baseball cap, black shirt, jeans and sneakers, Diet Coke in hand, Robert Thomas Pattinson has very little todo with Edward Cullen, his avatar of the Twilight film series. At 27, Rob is more than just an English actor who conqueredHollywood, or even any international star of TV series. This discreet Londoner, cultured and elegant became a global icon adored by millions of fans. A comfortable but temporary status – and above all extremely cumbersome – that the actor is changing slowlyand very cleverly: against type casting roles (‘Maupassant’ by Bel Ami, ‘The Rover’ by David Michôd) adoption of a Cinema “father”in the person of David Cronenberg (‘Cosmopolis’ in 2012 and a new movie in preparation) and a sensational entrance in the fashion world this fall by becoming the new face of Dior Homme fragrance. Lots of consistent evidence which tell us at Sport & Style, that we should not miss Rob Pattinson. Here he is sitting again and it’s our turn to play vampires to elicit informations

When did you start to be interested by comedy and realise the expressive potential it represents?
“I started late in a drama club because I was a very shy child. It was a revelation: it was the first time I confront myself to my fears and the adrenaline rush was intense. Then, there was the first time I had the feeling to “build” something. It was for ‘Little Ashes’ in 2008, a weird film where I played Salvador Dalí. I really wanted to give credibility to this character and therefore to my performance.”

“You’ve also been a musician?
At the be beginning, I wanted to be a musician. It was still the case until Twilight. At that time, I was touring with a band in pubs around London. We were playing folk-pop but I’ve always prefered soul music more – Otis Redding, Van Morrison – than folk music.”

“What is elegance for you as an actor?
It is surely a balance between magnetism, aura, behavior, gestures, look. But elegance is also being able to listen and to speak.”

“What about style?
This is a way of expressing yourself, or rather a means of expression. Style is often viewed as a kind of cosmetic, a way of hiding yourself in a suit. On the contrary, i think that true style is first to have a good knowledge of who you are and also be very honest with yourself.”

“Is it difficult to find good scenarios when you are a superstar?
Yes, because it’s difficult to know how the audience see you. Today, people know a lot of things about the actors outside of their profession. The choice of scenario is made by the intrinsic interest of the script, but also on what is almost a personal manifesto: choosing this character, it’s me too!”

“Why did you choose ‘The Rover’ by David Michod which will be released soon?To go in the opposite direction of your public image?
Probably a little, it’s part of the equation. I really wanted it, I auditioned twice! The script was wonderful, i worked hard. The story is fantastic, very original, told in a very innovative way. It was something that seemed very different from everything else and I wanted to be part of it.”

What smells reminds you of…

DIOR HOMME? “Irises. It isn’t overpowering, which is major for me.”

YOUR MOM? “Potpourri. She was obsessed – the aroma filled our house.”

VAMPIRES & WEREWOLVES? “White makeup and brown makeup.”

YOUR FIRST GIRLFRIEND? “Laundry detergent. She was obsessively clean, and freshness always lingered on her clothes.”

LONDON? “Wet grass and rain. Heathrow is in the countryside, so it’s the first thing I smell when I land”

SUCCESS? “Cash an In-N-Out Burger. It’s the greatest smell on the planet!”

*AUDIO* New Robert Pattinson interview with Glamour Italy   5 comments

It’s Robert Pattinson speaking, the former vampire who bewitches even without biting. That’s what happens in the Dior Homme cologne adv. That’s what happens one day in Los Angeles, where we met and interviewed him for the October issue of Glamour Italy…

DiorRob__40_

Do you mind if I chew a piece of gum during the interview?». First info: Robert Pattinson is a polite Hollywood star. Twilight, the vampire saga that made him famous, yielded him a popularity second only to the post-Titanic “DiCaprio-mania”. However, Robert remained a 27 year old down-to-earth guy who asks for permission.

And who quickly changes his mind: «Actually, I’m going to spit it: this is disgusting!». He waits for a hint of approval, then rips the corner of a newspaper, wraps in the “gross piece of gum”, and smiles, while hiding the “misdeed” with his hands. Second info: Rob, as his friends call him, with his flipped back baseball cap and his three days’ stubble , is also funny.

«Do you want to try an Italian one?», I ask him. «Really? Thank you!». He delicately takes the package. While opening it, with his half British half American accent, he reads: «Denti bianchi, sorriso protetto (i.e.: white teeth, protected smile)». He hasn’t got a single word, but looks enthusiastic. He tries one, then reclines his head, so all that one can see is his thick eyebrows, and, right below, two blue slits. He whispers: «Yours are much better».

Third info: Pattinson could win anyone over with just one look.

Robert Pattinson Dior-interview with Madame Le Figaro – France   3 comments

Here’s a new picture of Rob for the Dior Homme press photoshoot

PgvRU2I

New icon of Dior Homme cologne, the Twilight star refuse to let fame suck the lifeblood out of him. At 27, the idol who’s so britishdemands his artistic ambition and his fierce hunger for freedom. Meeting with a new wave gentleman.

He’s the star of the Twilight saga and only swears by Jean-Luc Godard. He’s an hunted idol. He loves nothing more than parties among friends. He’s cheerful, pessimistic, daring and anxious.
When you have to do a portrait of Robert Pattinson, you have to point out inconsistencies and try to understand why this 27 years old man, who might not have been armed to face this cannibal fame – gives a particular sense to the word ‘freedom’. Some are more free than others, but not him, fighting against a seclusion he’s trying to get out of.

One year after the Twilight saga ended – which propelled him amongst the tight group of overpayed actors in Hollywood. The impatient British guy wants to live differently than in the translucent skin of a romantic vampire who electrifies young girls.
