Daniel Radcliffe mentioned Robert Pattinson in an interview with ‘The First’ Magazine   4 comments

“I have a weird relationship with fame. It is sometimes hard to live, but I did not want to complain. Probably because the people are friendly with me – and it is that you released.

I’m thinking it has nothing to do with what lives Robert (Pattinson) This is a guy I really like – and no I do not have his laptop, and I say this, because every time it’s the first thing you wonder. He is a sex symbol. It’s sexy and it just makes her look “romantic” for girls tocrack. It is the perfect size to seduce girls – unlike me (laughs). He can be charming and cute, wild and sexy … I do not have this status: look at the photos in the press. When one puts us face-to-face, I always look a bit silly or I make faces, while he, he always has his eye as a womanizer!”

David Cronenberg talked about Rob & Cosmopolis at Queen’s University Film and Media Courses (March 13th)   2 comments

His film Cosmopolis, based on the novel by Don Delillo, is in post-production. It stars Robert Pattinson as a Manhattan millionaire.

The film was shot in Toronto, a favourite shooting location of Cronenberg’s.

“I’ve never shot a foot of film in the U.S., even though a lot of my movies are set there,” he said.

Toronto also provided a refuge for Pattinson’s international celebrity, he said.

“When we were shooting on the streets, [Pattinson] had a lot of fans crowding around, but he could go to bars and clubs in his street clothes and people didn’t recognize him,” he said.

Reese Witherspoon mentions Robert Pattinson in a new interview with Entretenimento r7   1 comment

While doing promo for ‘This Means War’, Reese Witherspoon talked about Robert Pattinson, who she worked with in ‘Water for Elephants’.

In the movie, the star of the Twilight saga, plays a vet student that joins the circus in the beginning of last century.

In the movie, Reese plays a character called Marlena, the circus’ star, engaged to an animal trainer.

“He’s great. And oh my God, so handsome!”

The actress praised Pattinson’s effort to manage two jobs at the same time.

“What surprised me was his dedication. He would film all weekend long, then spend the week on the Twilight [set], then another weekend filming, then more Twilight… And he still had that lightness, humility. He’s very grateful for everything he’s been living.”

Lee MacDougall Talks About “How to Be” Music and Mentions Rob   2 comments

You have a song called ‘How to Be’ that is the same name as the movie Robert Pattinson starred in. How did writing ‘How to Be’ come about?
I was speaking to my friend, Rob and he’d just been through an audition for a movie. He was telling me about the movie and telling me about this guy (his character) who was a complete loser and a failure. He wants to be a good musician, but he was rubbish. Rob thought the character was quite funny. I thought he seemed like a cool character. The film starts with the guy in a queue at a job center and ends with a guy in a queue at the job center; most of the actors and musicians in London are similar to that. I told him I was going to write the theme to the movie. I spent two days on my bed writing this song- I initially had a bit of writer’s block, but then it came to me. I took it back and played it to him and his family in his kitchen. I gave him the CD and said to play it to the producer and director. Then, Rob came back and told me that they had already picked out the soundtrack for it, but that it was a really good song. I thought to myself- ‘not to worry’, so I kept it and started playing it and it’s worked out really well. It’s not supposed to be about me, but everyone always assumes it’s about me. And, I think…. really?! Am I that much of a loser? (laughing)

Bel Ami Directors talk Robert Pattinson and his fame   6 comments

HuffingtonPost had an interview with the directors of Bel Ami and asked them about Robert Pattinson and his fame:

Bel Ami: How Did The Directors Deal With Robert Pattinson’s Sudden Fame?

Robert Pattinson has made a generation of girls swoon, and brought in millions of dollars for the producers of the Twilight phenomenon, where his portrayal of Edward Cullen means he needn’t get out of bed again if he doesn’t feel like it.

So, it would be understandable if such adulation had gone to his pretty tousle-haired head, and made him a bit difficult to work with. How did the directors of his new film Bel Ami deal with such an idol on this, their very first film?

“He was delightful,” insists Nick Ormerod, one half of the directing duo along with Declan Donnellan – established theatre directors with a body of stage, ballet and opera work more than three decades in the making, but novices when it came to film.

Bel Ami Directors Declan Donnellan & Nick Ormerod mention Robert Pattinson in a new interview   1 comment

From DIY:

With Bel Ami in UK cinemas now, we caught up with directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod in London talk about their all-star debut.

The couple formed the Laurence Olivier award-winning theatre company Cheek By Jowl in 1981, putting on Shakespeare productions and more worldwide. They’ve made their film debut with this racy adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel, about penniless soldier Georges (Robert Pattinson), who sleeps his way through Parisian’s high profile wives (Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas) for power. Read our review here.

We met with Donnellan and Ormerod to talk about their rascal of a lead character, getting the cast on such a modest budget, and their working relationship.

So how is the film world treating you?
Donnellan: The red carpet in Berlin was absolutely amazing. We’d never had much intrusion from Robert’s fans, and Rob’s really serious – he insisted on rehearsing for a whole month before we started to shoot. There was no intrusion on the set. The thing they had in common – all the principles came from completely different background in cinema. They all had one thing in common, in that they were doing something they’d never done before – the roles stretched each of them. Then we hit Berlin… [laughs] It was incredible fun.
Ormerod: We expected something fairly extraordinary, and it was amazing.
Donnellan: Nick burst out laughing one morning when he was reading the emails. He couldn’t stop laughing, saying “we had a letter from Hugo Boss, asking permission to dress us in Berlin!”
Ormerod: This is a Hugo Boss jacket!

*VIDEO* Christina Ricci talks about Robert Pattinson and Bel Ami in an interview with NME   1 comment

From NME

Christina Ricci praises her Bel Ami co-star Robert Pattinson in a new video interview which you can watch above.

The actress plays Clotilde de Marelle in the erotic political thriller, which is released in the UK today (March 9). Her character falls under the spell of Pattinson’s amoral and ambitious Georges Duroy.

Speaking about the role, Ricci said: “What I thought was great about playing this character was it gave me an opportunity to play somebody who we as an audience can see her experience pain and heartbreak for the first time. She’s someone for who everything’s always been great and she’s just always had fun in her life, and that to me was very interesting.”

She went on to pay tribute to Pattinson, saying, “He’s such a good actor and he comes to work prepared and focussed. He has the perfect amount of intensity for this part, but of anything was ever awkward or uncomfortable, we were able to make fun of ourselves and each other. ‘This is going to be a comfortable day, glad to see we’re both in our underwear!’”

Speaking about the 19th century Paris-set film’s appeal, Ricci added: “It’s a really interesting movie, and it’s a thought-provoking film. There are some great performances in it and it’s beautiful. I know that this is a different take on the sort of normal romantic period piece, but I think that’s what makes it interesting and really alluring.”

Bel Ami co-stars Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott-Thomas.
