Wal-Mart Is Making You Choose Who You Love More: Vampires Or Werewolves!   6 comments

Who will YOU choose: Edward or Jacob?

In anticipation of the Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD release on March 20, Wal-Mart is setting up separate ‘vampire’ and ‘wolf’ themed shops – so now you’re really going to have to choose who you love the most: vamp Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) or were-boy Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). What to do, what to do??

The stores will carry clothing, jewelry, and Twilight paraphernalia galore, as well as the Wal-mart exclusive Ultimate Fan Edition New Moon DVD.

In addition, the store will be hosting midnight release parties across the country, and word on the street is that the first 100 people in line get a very special prize. Maybe the prize will be Edward Cullen himself? We hear a vampire’s best hour is midnight, after all…

Do you think WalMart is taking the Twilight obsession to the extreme? Which store will YOU be shopping in?

Kristen Stewart: Robert Pattinson is 'Bold and Different'   3 comments

Parade.com’s Jeanne Wolf  interviewed Kristen Stewart and asked her about Rob’s performance in ‘Remember Me’. This is what Kristen had to say about Rob:

“I think he’s bold and different. It wasn’t an easy character to play. I thought he was really good in it.”

'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn': Update on the Search for Directors   Leave a comment

One of the things Twilight fans most look forward to is that moment when the reality that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is coming to fruition sets in.

Until then, we speculate about the varying potentialities for the film: two films versus one; 3-D or not 3-D; Portland or Vancouver; who will direct this movie (or these movies)?

Well, Entertainment Weekly has a very interesting new bit of insight as to the last bit at least and reports that a decision as to which filming location will be chosen is still in the works.

According to them, at least three, very high profile directors have been vetted for the post of directing the fourth portion of the Saga.

“Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies.”

They also reported that Van Sant’s representatives confirmed him as having been approached for the picture.

Twilight Lexicon makes a really good point about this issue, saying “Summit will tell us details about Breaking Dawn after the Eclipse major marketing wave is over” because “like most companies, they like to focus their marketing and newscycle on one major product at a time.”

A lot of folks speculated that the news would come after a successful showing for New Moon, but it makes sense that announcement of this sort of magnitude would be held off until The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has had its day (or weeks, months) in the theater.

'New Moon' To Receive Fan Choice Award At ShoWest: Nearly 50,000 moviegoers picked the 'Twilight' sequel as the best film of 2009   2 comments

In the eyes of the Academy Awards, “The Hurt Locker” was the Best Picture of 2009. But a loyal army of Twilighters feel differently — and this week, they’re making their opinions known at one of Hollywood’s most visible annual conventions.

“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” has been selected for the ShoWest/Fandango Fan Choice Award, which will be presented Thursday at ShoWest’s Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas. The Fan Choice Award was voted on by nearly 50,000 moviegoers, who were asked on Fandango to select their favorite film of 2009.

ShoWest, the largest annual convention for the motion-picture industry, is currently under way in Las Vegas. This year’s installment will once again end with the celebrated Banquet and Award Ceremony, where awards will also be presented to Vanessa Hudgens, Zach Galifianakis, Amanda Seyfried, Sam Worthington and Jerry Bruckheimer. Rumor has it that a producer from the “Twilight” series will accept the award, and a special video message from one of the franchise’s top stars will be played for those in attendance.

“You might have guessed that ‘Avatar’ would have won the Fan Choice Award, since ‘Avatar’ was the top ticket-seller in our company’s history,” explained Fandango Chief Marketing Officer Ted Hong. “But never bet against the passion, loyalty and dedication of the vociferous ‘Twilight’ fans.”

The sequel to “Twilight” garnered nearly 66 percent of the vote — although “Hurt Locker” shouldn’t feel too bad, as the same studio (Summit Entertainment) showed off its diversity in 2009 by releasing both films.

“Moviegoers on Fandango have been behind the franchise from the very beginning, and that’s why the first ‘Twilight’ movie won the Fan Choice Award last year,” Hong added. “The big question will be whether or not ‘Eclipse’ will be in the running for next year’s award, and if the franchise can pull off a three-peat.”

“We are thrilled to once again have the opportunity to partner with Fandango to present the ShoWest/Fandango Fan Choice Award at this year’s ShoWest Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony,” ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said in a statement. “It is no surprise that the fans have chosen the box-office hit ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ as this year’s recipient, and we are excited to present the film with this award.”
