Allen Coulter was interviewed by ComingSoon.Net and speaks about Rob a lot in this interview.

ComingSoon.net had a chance to sit down with Coulter to talk about his second movie. Unfortunately, there’s one aspect of the movie we really wanted to discuss with him, but even knowing about it before seeing the movie really takes away from its impact. Even so, here is what we ended up talking about with the director in our exclusive video interview:

* How he ended up with the script and why he decided to make it his second film
* The fact that the movie’s based on an original screenplay rather than adapted from a book
* How hard was it to convince financiers and a studio to back the film
* Getting Robert Pattinson on board and how that helped with financing
* Whether or not he considered casting New York actors for the roles
* How he was surprised to learn Emilie de Ravin was Australian
* How he wanted to approach the movie compared to “Hollywoodland”
* Talking about creating some of the settings for the story
* He talks about his next project, directing an episode of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”

Emilie De Ravin Speaks About Robert Pattinson With the Sunday Morning Herald   Leave a comment

Plenty of Twilight fans would kill to lock lips with their beloved Edward (Robert Pattinson) but Aussie actor Emilie de Ravin is the first to share a love scene with Pattinson in a new film.

The 28-year-old has spoken of her fondness for her co-star Pattinson, although she insists it was all work and no play when they were on the set of Remember Me.

“Robert’s a great guy. We spent a lot of time getting to know each other and trying to understand our characters, who are quite complex,” she says.

While the movie is a vehicle for Pattinson, many US critics claim the 28-year-old Melburnian outshines her high-profile co-star.

De Ravin insists she’s no overnight success, after moving to Los Angeles a decade ago and successfully auditioning for the teen drama Roswell. Since then she’s been in regular work and was married to actor Josh Janowicz (they separated six months later) but she still misses Australia.

“Los Angeles is a weird place. It took me a while to find my comfort zone,” she says.

She doesn’t hang out with the Aussie actors based in LA and spurns the city’s renowned party circuit.

“I spend most of my time watching movies at home, eating nice food or just going for a hike. I explored the party scene a bit when I was younger but I don’t know how people do it for years and years,” de Ravin says.

Pierce talks about Rob and 'Remember Me' With Newsday   Leave a comment

“Remember Me” is a different sort of thing altogether.
I think it’s very good, beautifully shot and with the young Rob Pattinson working very hard, giving of himself. He has his head on his shoulders, so, really, hats off to him. I want the best for the lad, ’cause I’m really fond of him. He’s a lovely lad. Has a huge following, and hopefully he’ll stick to his guns and not get overwhelmed by it all.

Like Pattinson’s “Twilight,” you know a bit about franchises, no?
There are worse things [laughs]. I have nothing but gratitude for the time time spent as Bond and the life it gave me as an actor. And yet, in the realm of things, it’s just another character on the landscape of a career. Albeit a huge, iconic, symbolic character. You know going in you’re going to have the devil to pay to get you out and try and create a career that still has resonance.

Delaware OnLine Article and Interview with Will Fetters   Leave a comment

Ryan Cormier of Delaware Online.com pays tribute to Delaware native Will Fetters

and lets us in on how the script for Remember Me came to be in this wonderful piece.

The new Robert Pattinson film “Remember Me” might never have happened if it were not for a bar brawl at the old Stone Balloon, in Newark.

Penned by Brandywine Hundred native and first-time screenwriter Will Fetters, the movie’s script flourished after that fateful night in 2003, which ended with Fetters spending a night in jail.
Fetters, now 28, had jumped in to break up a fight and learned that you “don’t mouth off to a cop,” he says.

“I was an arrogant kid and thought I was king of the world,” says Fetters, who had planned to be a lawyer until then. “It was horrifying because I wasn’t a bad kid and had never done anything like that. It was the wrong place at the wrong time and I said the wrong words. It was a black mark on this pristine record I tried to build to get into these law schools.

“My plan was shattered and I had to start shifting my focus, by necessity, to writing this story. It was just enough to freak me out and scare me into writing this movie.”

The day after the arrest, Fetters met his mother, Judy, at Iron Hill Brewery to explain what had happened. He thought his life was over, and he cried while telling his mom about it.

Fetters’ mother remembers that day well.

“I think he needed to process a lot of that, and writing was the way he did it,” she says. “And look what it’s led to. It’s crazy.”

One of the themes of “Remember Me” can be found in that turbulent time in Fetters’ life.
“Especially with young people, you try to control everything and the world is inherently uncontrollable,” says Fetters, who walked down the red carpet with his wife, Amanda, at the film’s premiere last week.
