It was a total Eclipse from the start.
The blockbuster third installment of The Twilight Saga opened to a staggering $30 million on its first night/morning in North America.
It surpasses the previous midnight record holder, which was New Moon at $26.3 million.
The last film in the series, New Moon, earned $72.7 million on November 20, 2009 to set the all-time opening day record.

Hi, I am from Sweden, and I just have seen the Eclipse. I just say, OMG! The film is amazing! The whole cast is extremely good (and beautiful of course), the story is very well done connected to the book. I love the end with Bella and Edward. This is absolutely the best film of the three so far. I think that the best scenes in Eclipse are when Bella and her father talks about “you know what”, the Tent scen who includes Rob, Kristen and Taylor – together in same time, and as I said earlier, I perfectly love end. WELL DONE EVERYBODY!
I saw Eclipse first thing this morning. WICKED.. absolutely LOVED IT!
I do love the conversation between Dad a Bella.. it got good laughs. I liked that their was more humor in this one.
The audience was a mixture, I was amazed at the amount of men, wives and hubbies, hubbies taking their wives and daughters. Dad’s and daughters. It was good.
When Bella was scratching Jacob’s ear as a wolf a little girl in our audience says..
DANG…. HE’S BIG!!!! 😉 Got a good laugh.
What about the Jacob, Bella kiss? Are they getting the kiss award next year? 😉
I’m thinking that at the MTV movie awards for next year that Edward/Bella & Bella/Jacob will be up for the Best Kiss. I think Rob did a better job kissing in Eclipse than he did in the previous two movies. And all I could think about during the tent scene where Jake & Edward were talking while Bella slept is Kristen looking up at Rob during the shoots as he’s trying to deliver his lines! I remember him saying in an interview she would do that during the reshoots as he kept freakin’ out in the tent, forgetting his lines, etc.
My favorite part is when she punches Jake & breaks her hand, and Jake tells this to Charlie..LMAO!
