Special Post: Remembering September 11th 21 comments
We’re taking a moment today to make a special post here at ToR.
May all those who died on September 11th rest in peace. May all those who survived them find the strength and courage to carry on…
To all the firemen and policemen from the FDNY, NYPD, and PAPD who gave their lives for others and for those who survived, your heroics acts will be in our hearts forever, thank you. Your courage went above and beyond the call of duty that day.
To all those who risked their lives to save others or died trying … The selflessness you showed has no bounds, you are true heros.
To all the people of New York City, we are with you in our thoughts.
You will always be remembered.

I will never forget the moment I turned on the TV that morning. The first plane had already hit, but at that exact moment, the second plane struck. My first thought was “Is the world ending?” my second was “Oh my God. My brother was supposed to be at the World Trade Center today.” Since all the phone lines were jammed, we had no idea until later that day. (He had actually gone the day before. The last group to ever tour the WTC) We watched in horror as the towers fell. Watched the people as they tried to run to safety. Feeling scared. Angry. Impotent, because I was in Ohio, and I knew there was nothing I could do. I will never forget the people we lost that day. Did I know them, no. But I can only imagine the fear and pain they had to endure under the hands of these heartless cowards. I pray for their families, that they may someday find peace in their hearts. I salute the NYPD, the NYFD, and all the service men and women who answered the call when their country needed them. ~JustChristy

KSpice75 brought this article to my attention. It’s an interview Rob did in November of 2008 with the New York Times. I thought it showed the huge contrast between this year and last year. It’s a good read. I wonder what Rob thinks of the Burger King crowns… lol

WHAT does a newly minted British movie star do when he hits New York?
He heads straight to Brooklyn to visit Bedford-Stuyvesant, apparently.
“I visited the Marcy projects this afternoon,” said Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen, the handsome vegetarian vampire in the film “Twilight,” which opens Nov. 21. “It was great. Nobody noticed me at all.”
Mr. Pattinson, 22, said that visiting the old stamping ground of one of his musical idols, Jay-Z, brought back memories of his own earlier artistic endeavors.

Here are some scans as well as an interview done with Chris Weitz by Bliss Magazine. Here is the interview and the scans:
Setting the scene:
“I’d like to think the vibe on set was relatively calm. I was very careful to try to show the actors diagrams of the sets, so they didn’t turn up without knowing what it was like first. It was fun once we got there, but very, very tiring.”
Body Beautiful:
“It’s impossible to take a bad picture of Rob, even with these motion picture spots all over him! I think the hysteria over him is greater than for any of the other guys because the character he’s playing is unattainable and perfect. Thankfully, Rob has a highly developed sense of the absurd, so he doesn’t suffer as much as he otherwise would. However, when we were in Vancouver, there were days when he would just stay indoors and read or watch movies. If he went to his window, people would scream! He was kind of a hermit, really/ It’s hard for me to judge how he’s changed because I didn’t know him in the last movie.”
