Le Film Français released a press release saying that ‘Stone Angels’ will be the French distributor of the movie and that it will be out May 23rd.
Which would match with the date on the Cosmopolis poster from the Berlin film market and with the Cannes festival that will take place from May 16th to May 27 this year.

Upside Down with Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess. Le Grand Soir from the duo Delépine/de Kervern. Populaire with Bérénice Béjo and Deborah François. Plus full-length movies from Michel Gondry and Ken Loach.
– Those are the movies we might see at another festival, we know the one that takes place Riviera in May …

What is it with grim literary giants partnering with champion directors these days? Yesterday it was Ridley Scott and Cormac McCarthy. Today comes news of David Cronenberg tackling the tangled material of Don DeLillo, Cosmopolis. Cronenberg did his career a real solid when he broke from the “grand guignol of sexual perversion” genre and into the “crime” genre, and there’s little doubt he’ll do justice to Cosmopolis‘ vision of twisted Manhattan.
I lost no faith in this vision even after learning that the lead in Cosmopolis will be Robert Pattinson. Edward Cullen will lose his sparkle when under Cronenberg’s seamy hand.
Why am I so certain? Like any good gambler, I’m going to the track record.
Icon Film Distribution Australia is the official distributor for Cosmopolis in Australia and according to the FB site, the Australian release date is set for August 30
You’d think any actor would jump at the chance to work in a film that stars Robert Pattinson. Think of the exposure they’d get!
However, one of Pattinson’s Cosmopolis costars says it wasn’t the Twilight hunk that drew him to the film…
“Everybody keeps asking me what Pattinson was like,” Jay Baruchel told us last night at the premiere if his new film Goon at the Directors Guild in West Hollywood.
“He’s a lovely man, incredibly polite and very disarming, but I was just there because [director] David Cronenberg is my idol,” he said. “I got to be directed by my hero and I would have just picked up his dry cleaning, so the fact that I’m in it—I don’t even remember what I did. I was just kind of there watching the whole time.”
In the flick, Baruchel plays a man who starts a tech company alongside Pattinson. And we’re surprised to hear none of Baruchel’s friends or family begged him to come to set to meet the Breaking Dawn actor.
“I surround myself with girls who keep their stuff on the DL,” he grinned. “So I think my sister kept it to herself.”
Is Baruchel even a Twilight fan? He laughed, “Not really.”
Too bad Cronenberg didn’t direct one of the Twi-flicks!

Swiss distributor Falcom has secured all rights in German-speaking Europe forCosmopolis, David Cronenberg‘s adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel starring Robert Pattinsonas a billionaire Wall Street broker travelling on a odyssey through Manhattan to get a haircut.Colin Farrell was originally slated to play the lead before being replaced by the Twilight star.Cosmopolis also features Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche,Smantha Morton and Canadian actress Sarah Gadon.
Falcom plans to bow the film this year in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A domestic release date has yet to be set.
