In a recent interview Michael Sheen spoke briefly about Rob:
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is upon us. You have worked with Robert Pattinson in New Moon. What is he like, and do you see him being able to break free of the role of Edward?
Iâm sure heâs not going to have any trouble himself personally, itâs whether the audience will accept him as something else. Weâll see. He certainly has the desire to stretch herself as an actor and try different things. He has a [different] film out at the moment, doesnât he?

Yes, Remember Me, which is really good.
So I hear. I donât think heâll have any trouble. Heâll probably always be Edward Cullen for a whole generation, but Iâm sure he wonât have any trouble doing that. And heâs lovely. Heâs a very nice English lad who seems to have both feet on the ground. Heâs very humble, very pleasant and hard-working. He takes what he does very seriously. I think heâs going to do very well, that young lad.

So are you, like, best pals with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart now?
I wouldn’t say we were friends friends. Those guys are very busy, so the time that I’ve spent with them hasn’t been more than a month. But we did get together in Italy and sort of huddled together to keep away from the 5,000 girls that turned out.
So Italian girls have Twilight fever too?
As we drove through the streets of Montepulciano in blacked-out Suburbans, we could see the fans climbing all over each other.

From Engadget:
Think Apple and Android fans are hardcore? Those guys are mere lightweights compared to Twilightfanatics, who’ll soon have a phone to call their own too. Coming with eight tie-in wallpapers and that embellished back cover, this version of the GD510 — a thoroughly unexciting featurephone with ambitions above its 3-inch, resistive touchscreen station — has just become available over in France, for free on contracts with Orange or in exchange for âŹ199 ($238). As a bonus temptation, LG is also throwing in a free copy of Twilight: New Moon, though we doubt anyone buying this phone will have seen that movie less than a dozen times.

It was a smooch-filled evening at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 6). First Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart reenacted their on-screen lip-locking onstage â albeit it with a jokey awkwardness. Then Sandra Bullock accepted her Generation Award and ended up swapping spit with presenter Scarlett Johansson.
So the big question backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre was “Who had the hotter kiss?” The cast of “New Moon” had many answers for us, and they didn’t all agree.
“I got to go Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson,” Peter Facinelli told MTV News. “They’re my people. They’re my family. But that other one was pretty hot too.”
Elizabeth Reaser cast her vote in the other direction. “I’ve never seen Scarlett and Sandra Bullock make out, so I’ll go for the novelty of the hotness, which takes it up a notch,” she said. “That was hot. That was genuinely hot. I didn’t expect it. Those things are usually a little forced, a little weird. And it was sort of genuinely hot.”
Jackson Rathbone concurs. “Hands down, easy â that was Scarlett and Sandra Bullock. That was some sexiness,” he said. “I liked it. You should do it more often!”
Alex Meraz was on the same page as Rathbone, and he had some compelling reasoning behind his viewpoint. “I’m going to have to go with Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson,” Meraz said. “It’s a better kiss. It’s a kiss I would want to be a part of.”
For those keeping track at home, that’s one vote for KStew and RPattz and three for Sandra and Scarlett. And then there’s Anna Kendrick, who couldn’t cast a vote because she was pulled out of her seat not once but twice to attend to her various Movie Awards duties.
“Of course, I’m backstage for both of them,” she confessed. “I didn’t really get an angle on it. So I’ll go home and review each one very carefully and let you know.”
