Was Broadway always part of your plan?
“Not really, I mean, everyone did a really good job of containing the paparazzi and the fans were really respectful.”
—Robert Pattinson‘s Bel Ami costar, Christina Ricci, at BlackBerry’s launch party for the new BlackBerry Torch from AT&T, when we asked if the constant fan and paparazzi attention affected filming
We’ve seen some, uh, rather intense Twi-hards in our day, so does that mean they’re all tucked away in their coffins until Breaking Dawn?
Added the svelte cutie: “[Pattinson’s] fans, in particular, get behind his career. They’re not going to screw up his career by ruining his next movie. They were awesome. They applauded people when we came out of set; they were there and super psyched we were in Budapest or wherever we were.”
On The Red Carpet:
Christina Ricci stars alongside Robert Pattinson in the upcoming film Bel Ami, and recently gushed about her co-star calling him, “a great guy.”
“He’s such a dedicated actor,” she told OnTheRedCarpet.com about working with the Twilight Saga star. “It’s fun to work with someone who is genuinely not jaded and who loves films.”
The two apparently had a lot of fun on set as well. “He’s so sweet and funny and we make fun of each other and laugh. We’re silly together. We just really had a good time,” Ricci said.
In Bel Ami, a film based off a novel of the same name. Pattinson plays Georges Duroy, a womanizing Parisian. The British actor is a bit of a movie buff according to Ricci. “He’s surprisingly a huge cinephile,” she said.
At last night’s Blackberry Torch launch in L.A., Christina Ricci couldn’t contain her feelings for her Bel Ami co-star Robert Pattinson. “We would just goof off and laugh while we were working—he’s a sweet guy and super funny…and a really good kisser!” she told us. And what was her favorite part of filming? “The costumes, the makeup and… Rob!” But Ricci admitted she hasn’t even seen the films that are responsible for his fame. “I was waiting for [The Twilight Saga films] to be on TV because the theaters were so crowded, but there’s no excuse!” Ricci also said it’s easy to understand why Kristen Stewart, who stopped by the set several times, is so smitten with her Twilight and real-life co-star Pattinson: “He’s so charming and such a smart guy. He’s so super organized and in charge of his career. He was actually giving me advice!” the veteran actress said.
From eonline:
We had a chance to catch up with one of our fave actresses since forevah, Christina Ricci—who dished to us about her upcoming flick Bel Ami with Robert Pattinson. Like how steamy their loves scenes got and how R.Pattz had a special lady we all know and love come and visit him on set. Let the dishing begin!
“It was really fun, I mean just aesthetically we wore amazing costumes and hair and make up was great,” Ricci told us at the fab party about her new flick. “And working with Rob was amazing. He’s such a great guy, so talented.”
“He’s just great. We’d just make fun of each other the whole time, like ‘oh my god we’re so goofy’ or ‘my accent is so bad!'”
So exactly how close do Christina and Rob get? “We are lovers, yeah you know.”
“There’s some naughtiness,” the adorable Ricci said with a smirk when we grilled her on whether we get some good love-scenes, adding there are “lots” of them.
Natch we had to ask the question on all of our minds. Is Rob a good kisser?
“Um yeah,” Christina smiled. “He is pretty much awesome.”
One lucky girl who gets to experience Rob’s smooches on a pretty regular basis is Kristen Stewart. As we told you, Kristen traveled to Budapest after her birthday to be with Rob during filming.
“Yeah she visited,” Christina said. “I love her, she is totally sweet. And he is great!”
Although Ricci says she’s never seen a Twilight film, she totally gets the cult appeal. “I understand where they’re coming from,” confessed the lovely CR. ” He’s an awesome human being. He’s so funny and quirky and weird.”

From Collider:
Over the last few months, pre-production on Robert Pattinson’s Bel Ami has been charging forward as we’ve covered the casting of Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman/Kristin Scott Thomas. Now that the casting of the major players has been completed, we’ve been told principal photography on Bel Ami is scheduled to begin February 7 and they’ll be filming in London and Budapest. Here’s the synopsis:
Bel Ami is the story of Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.
Based on the synopsis, I think Pattinson’s female fanbase is going to be very happy watching this movie. Hit the jump for more:
The other bit of news we were informed of is exactly who each actor is playing in the film and some more casting info. Here’s what we were sent:
Robert Pattinson plays Georges Duroy in this erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is Madeleine, Kristin Scott Thomas
(Nowhere Boy, I’ve Loved You So Long) is Virginie, Christina Ricci (Monster, The Ice Storm) is Clotilde, Holly Grainger (Scouting Book for Boys) is Suzanne, Philip Glenister (Life on Mars, Calendar Girls) is Charles, and Colm Meaney (The Damned United, The Snapper) plays Duroy’s adversary, Rousset. The screenplay is written by Rachel Bennette from the novel by Guy de Maupassant, and the film is directed by the influential and innovative Cheek By Jowl directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.
BEL AMI is produced by Uberto Pasolini (The Full Monty, Machan) with Simon Fuller as executive producer. The director of photography is Hagen Bogdanski (The Young Victoria, The Lives of Others); Attila F. Kovacs (Sunshine, Meeting Venus) is production designer; the costumes are designed by Odile Dicks-Mireaux (An Education, The Constant Gardener); the hair and make-up designer is Jenny Shircore (The Young Victoria, Elizabeth: The Golden Age
) and the editor is Masahiro Hirakubo (The Duchess, Trainspotting).
New details are out about Robert Pattison‘s new movie, Bel Ami, as the screenplay has leaked and it looks like some of his young fans will not to be allowed in the theater. Pattison will play journalist Georges Duroy from Guy de Maupassant’s 19th century novel, who gets ahead by getting in on with powerful women.
Filming will start next month, as will his onscreen love scenes that will go way beyond Twilight and New Moon. Life & Style reports from the script on a sex romp with Christina Ricci‘s character Clotilde that both characters are “surprised by the intensity of the racy encounter” and “Tender, aching moments pass before George asks Clotilde ‘Now?’ “…I’m sorry, what were we talking about?
Oh, other sex scenes include a tryst with Umma Thurman which is “quick and efficient while sitting at a desk” and “rough and ravenous with Virgie (Kristin Scott Thomas) on the floor” and “up against a door with a prostitute.”
