New Robert Pattinson Interview – He talks sex scenes, Breaking Dawn, and more   2 comments

What was it like working with Bill Condon?

He’s a director that likes to get involved, and he’s also a writer, so he can adapt things in the moment. Something very cool is that before everything used to be so strict ‘This is how it’s in the book, this is how it’s going to be in the film,’ but sometimes things don’t look as good onscreen as they do in paper, so Bill was very daring in interpreting some things differently.

We need to talk about the most important part in this movie, the sex scene, what was that like for you?
The sex scene is never described in the book, so every single person who read it had their own idea in their mind. The entire time we were filming it we thought ‘We have to make this look spectacular to everyone,’ and we were thinking on how to meet people’s expectations. But you also worry about how you’re going to look, I had never been so worried about that before, but after seeing how much Taylor works out for the movies, I thought ‘Well, everybody is really going to judge me now,’ (laughs loudly). I always tried to think about positions where where I could tense the muscles, and suck in my belly… Ok, I think I just gave the most vain answer I could come up with.

So, you were worried about taking your shirt off?

Well, yeah. Especially because in this saga the body of the characters seems to be a big deal. So in this movie I thought, ‘OK, it’s the last one, I’m getting a six pack,’ and I tried, but it’s VERY hard. I worked out so hard for 6 months, so after filming the sex scene the first thing I thought was ‘Time to eat!’.

How has Kristen evolved all these years as an actress?
Well, she became an adult. She was 17 when we started, she’s 21 now. Her personality has changed a lot. As an actress, she’s always been very confident, that’s why I laugh when people say she’s shy. She’s not shy at all (laughs).

Ashley Green Talks About Robert Pattinson   3 comments

Ashley Green mentions Robert Pattinson in her interview with Allure magazine.

The actress iniatilly tried out for the role of Bella before being called back to audition for Alice, a character she related to immediately upon reading the books. “Everyone asks, ‘Weren’t you jealous?’ No, I think that the casting was so spot-on, especially between Rob and Kristen,” Greene says. “Dude, I just got lucky in all fronts, because not only am I in Twilight, but the character’s just so damn lovable.”

Greene talks about the Twilight cast as if they were a second family, and about Pattinson as if he were an awkward brother. ” Rob. Oh, Rob. He’s very endearing, but you’ve seen his interviews. He’s like, ‘Ah, I don’t know… Oh, God,” Greene bumbles in imitation. Despite poking a little fun at him, she credits Pattinson (she calls him a “phenomenal actor”) and the rest of the actors for helping her cope with sudden fame. “All of us essentially were unknown. So everyone kind of went through this crazy whirlwind [together],'” Greene says. “It was really nice to be able to confide in people who were going through the exact same thing.” The vampires also bonded over a mutual dislike for the makeup and the yellow contacts, which cut off their peripheral vision.

Wyck Godfrey Talks About ‘Breaking Dawn’   3 comments

In the December issue of Syfy Magazine (hitting stores now, with The Walking Dead featured on the cover), Wyck Godfrey (producer on The Twilight Saga) talked a bit about how and fellow filmmakers decided upon hiring Bill Condon to direct The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Explaining first how each of the previous directors matched up with their respective projects, Godfrey explained why he thought the final two were a good match for Condon.

“With Breaking Dawn, it’s a journey into adulthood. It’s a very mature step for Edward and Bella, moving into marriage and sex for the first time, pregnancy, birth. All of that really speaks to finding a filmmaker who could help our young actors, who hadn’t gone through any of that stuff … go through that process. Bill’s work has always come from a place of maturity, I found … He’s always directed films about misunderstood outsiders. And I feel that Edward and Bella are misunderstood outsiders, in terms of what they want. And Condon’s work also has some visual scale to it. Dreamgirls showed that he could direct a movie that had a really beautiful visual style to it.”

Godfrey also admitted that the Twilight fan community has been influential in more ways than one and re-iterated the point Bill Condon made at Comic-Con this summer, that fan blogs and opinions coming off of watching things from afar led to a few on-set changes during production.

“The first day of shooting in Brazil, Rob and Kristen’s pictures got taken everywhere. And overwhelmingly the response was, ‘Oh my gosh! His hair is too dark! His hair is black! What did they do? His hair is too black!’ And it literally forced us to go in the next day and look at him and go, ‘Did we go too dark with his hair? Should we lighten it a little bit?’ And I think we ended up lightening it . . . Also, you’ve read all the blogs about the books by the time you’re making the movies. So, in some way all that is subconsciously affecting your decisions as you’re working on the adaptations of the scripts. I know that numerous times we’ll be in a room talking about the script and someone will go, ‘No, No! That’s one fo the fans’ favorite scenes! WE have to do that!'”

Sarah Gadon talks Cosmopolis and working with Robert Pattinson   Leave a comment

Robert Pattinson, who will marry Kristen Stewart in “Breaking Dawn” this November, is also set to wed Sarah Gadon in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis.” And, as Gadon revealed to MTV News, it’s going be a very interesting journey for the newlyweds in the film.

“I think it’s a really interesting film, and I don’t want to give away too much, but I think in a really kind of pared-down version of the film, it’s about a young millionaire who loses everything in the course of a day,” New Class-er Gadon said.

“I play his new wife, so I’m one of the only characters that comes in and out of the story throughout the film. We have breakfast, lunch and dinner together, and those are going to be some interesting meals.”

Having already worked with Cronenberg on the Freudian flick “A Dangerous Method,” Gadon said she was fully aware what she was getting herself into, so watching Pattinson get into the director’s dangerous method proved to be quite interesting.

“For me, it was really interesting and great to work with Rob at this point in his career,” she said. “And I think David Cronenberg is a fabulous director, and to see Rob meet with David at this point in his journey as an artist was really special for me to watch.

“I think when you work with David Cronenberg, it’s a really exciting and liberating and, at the same time, terrifying experience. And it was really great, having worked with David, to watch somebody new go through that … I think it’s really great for [Pattinson] to have chosen this role and be a part of our film.”

*VIDEO* Kevin Durand talks about Robert Pattinson and Cosmopolis   3 comments

MTV News caught up with “Cosmopolis” co-star Kevin Durand at the premiere of “Real Steel” over the weekend, and he had nothing but rave reviews for both the film and its leading man.

“It’s awesome. We’re just in postproduction right now. It’s incredibly exciting,” Durand said. “Robert is a very gracious, kind fella, and we had a great time [filming]. We had a really great time.”

When asked what new sides of Pattinson’s acting abilities we’ll see in the film, Durand said we’ll see an edgier, more adult version of the “Twilight” star.”He’s got an edge to him in this film,” Durand said. “He did some really excellent work that I think he should be very proud of.”

The “Real Steel” and “I Am Number Four” actor went on to say that given the subject matter and action in the plot, the film will have a more adult rating and that fans should be very excited to see it.

“[It takes place] in present day, but it’s its own time and place,” he explained. “Mr. Cronenberg has such an amazing voice. I myself am just as excited, probably more excited, than anyone else to see it, just to see what he’s done with it.”
