From MTV:
Braving the mud hills of his obscure Canadian location and risking getting beaten by members of the “Breaking Dawn” cast and crew, Robert Pattinson took time to call intoRyan Seacrest’s radio show this morning for a brief chat. RPattz was surprisingly giggly (but to be honest, Ryan lends himself to that sort of response) and divulged a few details about his upcoming release, “Water for Elephants” withReese Witherspoon, and the highly anticipated “Breaking Dawn.” Here’s what we learned:
As if this wasn’t clear from the currentVanity Fair cover, he’s an animal lover.
Robert formed a close relationship with Tai, one of the elephants featured in “Water for Elephants.” “They’re the most sophisticated, gentle creatures you could possibly hope to work with,” he told Ryan. “I got carried around in her mouth the first day I met [Tai] and you suddenly realize how incredible they are.”
Historical accuracy is so important to him, he even researched for his role in the Great Depression-era film.
“It’s a big, beautiful old-fashioned love story, set in the ’30s with me and Reese Witherspoon playing lovers. It’s very sweet,” he explained. “I watched a bunch of documentaries, but the main thing is the [Sara Gruen] novel it’s based on is very historically accurate. Jack Fisk, who’s the production designer, his sets were so incredibly authentic, and the costume designer and everything, it’s an incredibly true to life adaptation of the book.”
Team Edward fans made him nervous about taking on the “Water for Elephants” character of Jacob.
Wait a second, not that Jacob. “It’s quite funny, as soon as I read [the script] that was one of my main concerns,” Robert laughed. “I think the fact that he’s Polish—Jacob Jankowski—takes away from [the similarities] a little bit. It’s very different from ‘Twilight.'”
Despite the constant buzz of media attention, he’s content with where he is in his career.
“I’m pretty happy with the way things have gone. I mean, I stayed working, stayed pretty happy. I think that’s the most you can ask for,” he said.
Sadly, Robert remained mum on details from the “Breaking Dawn” set, but did set the rumor straight that his fellow cast members are not on lockdown while secluded in “the middle of nowhere” Canada. “They’re being super-secretive about all the stuff on this one but I think I can get out of my room,” he laughed. But the next two months won’t allow Rob much time for anything else, as “Breaking Dawn” continues filming until the premiere of “Water for Elephants” on April 22.

“We got dared on our Facebook page,” Jonnie recalled. “We asked them what they would dare us to do, because one of the list items is to accept a dare, and they said the world voted and that we should steal a lock of Robert Pattinson’s hair.”
The guys, always up for any challenge, went after the “Twilight” star.
“So, we went vampire hunting and did it,” Duncan said. “I’m not telling [where the hair is]. It’s in my pillow case.”

What we love about James Franco is that, despite pursuing a Ph.D. at Yale, garnering serious Oscar buzz in “127 Hours” and embodying a Hollywood A-list persona, he’s taken time out of his busy schedule to keep up with the trends. That’s right, James has both read and watched the “Twilight” books and films, and when MTV News caught up with him at the Toronto International Film Festival where he was promoting “127 Hours,” he spent more time talking about the phenomenon than the film’s stars typically do.
While he may not be a self-proclaimed Twi-hard after reading the series, James can at least reference Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner on a first name basis (you’d be surprised to find there are celebs out there who can’t), and can clearly understand the deeper metaphors of the stories.
“I wouldn’t say I enjoy them, but I’m fascinated with them,” James said about the books. “I’m interested in the metaphor of the vampire placed in the high school setting and how a relationship with a vampire can stand in for general feelings that people have as teenagers. And the obsession people have with that is also fascinating to me.”
James also took some time analyzing the role of the films in the whole “Twilight” craze. “It’s really hard to extricate those actors from the reading experience of just the phenomenon of ‘Twilight’ now,” he said. He also gave a shout-out to the self-references of “Eclipse” that we loved so much.
“The movies are almost commenting on themselves,” he said. “There will be a scene where the go-to guys, Taylor and Rob, are in the tent, it’s almost like a ‘Brokeback Mountain’ scene, where the two guys are talking in a tent and the girl is asleep, and they’re having, like, this romantic moment almost through her, in a way. One of them says, ‘Well, I’m hotter than you,’ and it’s almost like they’re winking at the fans, like to the Team Jacob or the Team Edwards.”
But he does have one “Twilight” concession to make: He hasn’t finished reading “Breaking Dawn.” He has heard a bit about the birthing scene (“I kind of know what happens, some very strange birth, right?” he asked rhetorically), but at least his reasoning for calling it quits part way through the book matches our own frustrations when we were reading it the first time!
“I read a part of it. I think I got to the sex scene, but it was so brief, I didn’t even know if it was the actual sex scene,” he admitted. “It was kind of a letdown after all that buildup.”

Sad news alert!
You won’t be seeing Twilight’s biggest stars this weekend—at least not on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards…
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are not—we repeat, not—expected to attend the big Chelsea Handler-hosted shindig. It’ll be weird without them, but with no projects (i.e., Breaking Dawn) to promote, there’s no major reason for the trio to be there.
Plus, they’re busy. Rob’s been on holiday while Kristen and Taylor are off filming nonbloodsucking projects.
No word on other Twi- plans for the VMAs, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some of the vampire saga’s other costars show up at the VMAs to represent.

“Twilight” superstar Robert Pattinson has been conducting so many “Eclipse”-centric interviews lately, it’s a wonder he actually remembers anything he says — let alone the countless articles that hang on his every word.
However, when MTV News caught up with him on the “Eclipse” premiere’s black carpet Thursday night (June 24) to ask him about an article in which he’d been quoted as saying he’s tired of all the “Twilight” work, Pattinson seemed to remember very clearly he had said nothing of the sort and quickly set the record straight.
“That’s bullsh–!” Pattinson joked. “I hate reporters misquoting me, it’s so annoying.”
Of course, realizing he’d just used a naughty word during MTV’s live feed from the premiere, he was quick to apologize for the blunder and cover his mouth.
Nonetheless, regarding his reportedly being “tired” of playing the world’s most popular vampire, Pattinson denied it wholeheartedly: “Anyone who says they’re tired of this is really crazy.” Thinking about his life without “Twilight” reminds him of what he was doing before, “which was sitting around doing nothing.” (Aside from his role in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” of course.)
“I love doing the movies,” Pattinson insisted. “I like all the people. I’ve had a great time on all of them. The cast is great.”
When asked to put into words what he’ll feel when the series comes to an end in a couple of years, the teen heartthrob said simply, “It’s just weird. They’ve become so much a part of my life, it’s like divorcing someone. I guess Ill see. Maybe it will be great!”

Without a doubt, one of the most talked-about moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s acceptance “speech” for winning the Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss. Fans loved the quick, awkward kiss Pattinson grabbed from Stewart onstage, but when MTV caught up with him backstage afterwards, he admitted that the stunt didn’t work out the way they’d planned.
Apparently Pattinson had other ideas for ways the two “Twilight” stars could accept the award, so when MTV News caught up with Stewart at the press junket for “Eclipse,” we couldn’t resist asking her about them.
“He did have some pretty funny ones,” she admitted. But when asked if she regretted not acting on any of Pattinson’s ideas, she responded, “No, no, definitely not. I’m really glad that we didn’t do his.”
What was Pattinson’s best suggestion, you might ask? It seems as if he took a page right out of the book of his upcoming film “Water for Elephants” for this one.
“He wanted to be hula hooping with a match in his mouth, and then he wanted to light a match while I was juggling and he was hula hooping, and he wanted to put it in my mouth and see if we could make our way over to each other … it didn’t really make a whole lot of sense to me,” Stewart said with a laugh. “I was like, ‘I can’t juggle onstage in shoes. I can barely walk up the stairs.’ “
Stewart didn’t even make it to the stairs this year before she almost fell when she went up with Pattinson to accept the Best Kiss award. At least it was a bit more coordinated than last year’s Movie Awards, when Stewart dropped her Golden Popcorn statue for Best Female Performance during her acceptance speech.
“What’s really funny is I really, really don’t try to do that stuff. I try to be [smooth]. This year especially, I was like, I’m just going to give them exactly what they want, I’m going to be totally cool, I’m going to thank everybody,” she said. “I got up there, and I was like, ‘Chris directed the movie, and he’s awesome. Thanks.’ And I had to get off, like that.”
