So, Peter Facinelli said when he reached 1 million followers he would get Rob or Taylor to tweet. We all hoped it would be Rob and guess what? It was! It was a little early, as PFach hadn’t reached 1 million yet. Some were excited, some were disappointed, but he tweeted! Will he get the twitter bug now? From his tweet, I think not. I think it is adorkably Rob and it was lovely of his “dad” (a/k/a Peter) to get him to do it. I admit, I am a little bummed at some of the reactions that it was “lame” – no worry the poor guy doesn’t stick his nose into cyber space – when he does, it gets punched!!
ITA, Paula. i was dismayed at another site to encounter the same criticism. poor guy can’t win for losing. and frankly i don’t care if Peter typed it for him or not, the point is, he said something to us. i thought it was cute.
I think the flames came from those crazy fans that would attack him on the street… I also think it was a sweet tweet and I had to reply to peter & rob telling them that. It was a very rob-like message and it made me smile!
The negative reactions make me sad though, I thought it’s LAME and IMMATURE.Thank god there’s lots of sensible fans out there to make sure they get the feedback they deserve wich is lots of love and respect (since to me, love without respect is not love at all…)
I think its great…we all know how much Rob dislikes twitter and such so i am gratefull that he bothered…and tbh Peter didnt have to do it in the first place…he is always doing things for fans and that is why he is so well liked…so i think people shud be grateful!

Exactly. Twitter is one of the big reasons why Rob’s privacy is nonexistent, so we were lucky to get anything. So I’m grateful to Rob for making the effort, and I’m grateful to Peter for doing it in the first place. For all we know, it may have taken quite a bit of persuasion just to get that much out of Rob.

As I said on my twitter, I think that at 27 it’s not normal to feel this excited bc one of my fav actors twitted 3 words and I read it “live”!
But then again, this is definitely a ONE time thing, so, i’m glad he did, dont think it would have been typically Rob to write a “novel” on twitter. It was cute, I’m happy with it 🙂

i hate that i hated the tweet. DAMMIT. I should be grateful. I’m so selfish. But I did hate it. felt weird. didn’t feel like peter or rob talking. I felt like it was a brush off off of the tweeters. just think though- if you were Rob and Peter asked you to tweet the fans who were following him. you already aren’t comfortable in crowds, and (maybe) you realize this tweet will go out to about a million ppl. personally i would have no clue what to say. at all. hell i wouldn’t even come up with what HE wrote. LOL

but well, as I’ve said, in the end it doesn’t matter if it was him, cause (well, for me at least), it made me smile to read it, I really enjoined the thought that Rob did just the same thing I did at the same moment (sitting at PC, tiping) – so since I cannot proof it I’m just happy and enjoy it 🙂

Well the guy can’t get away from everyone wanting him every minute of every day. it is so much more than fan adoration, and I can imagine it doesn’t make life very easy for him. He can’t go anywhere or do anything. I can understand and respect that he probably enjoys the closed sets when he works where he can relax a bit, and try to get away from public eyes. Why would he want to be on twitter. Maybe in a few years when the “honeymoon” of the franchise is over and he is more than just Edward to the public….
Well, I don’t think he’s just ‘Edward’ to the most, but for him it doesn’t change so much… – but yet for him all will be better when the craze about him eased down a bit…
What did I say last week? Keep Rob off twitter so that we can continue with the fantasy that he’d be entertaining and adorable if he was on twitter. Reality bites – he’s as boring as most other celebs (Peter Facinelli excepted)! I expect a tirade now from Tammy O and al the other crazies!

Ok, I was at first kind of excited because I read it live. Then I re-read it and honestly was kind of let down. Like I felt I was doing a bad thing by wanting him to tweet because he didn’t really want to. Oh well. He did still do it, which really is very cool. And PFach did deliver. gotta love him. Ok, and I still love Rob too.
I know some of us are disappointed, but we have to remember, Rob LOVES his privacy. Twitter hasn’t exactly been good to him, what with giving away locations and therefore robbing him of his privacy, so I’m sure he was skeptical when Peter asked him to tweet, but, being the stand-up guy that Rob is, he obliged. Was it perfect? Well, no. But neither is Rob, and neither are we. Thank you Peter, for getting Rob to send out a tweet, and thank you Rob, for doing it!
i like that…very true and i can express thanks while wearing my bitter shades 🙂 but i want to add that even tho twitter has done rob wrong…he’s got a ton of fans that respect him and support him and try to set the record straight whenever tweets get wacky. i hope he knows all his twitter fans aren’t trying to tie him up in their basement (shhhh) 😉

Really?! How much effort did any of us put in to get that tweet? I was already following PFach before he promised a tweet at 1 million followers, so I know I did nothing. Some people may have typed a tweet or two, or mentioned it in a blog here or there to get the follower numbers up, but that takes all of 20 seconds to type.
Peter, on the other hand, had to talk Rob into tweeting to the fans, when he knows how much of a negative impact Twitter has on his privacy. So I say give Rob a break. He didn’t have to do it. Peter didn’t have to do anything for us either. We should be grateful for anything we get from a man that is afraid to reveal himself in public these days.
well i guess we can all see why rob doesnt like the internet he actually tweets for the first time and gets slagged off by people who profess to liking him i thought the tweet was typical rob and we should be happy we got one at all cos after this i doubt he will feel like tweeting again if this is the reaction he gets from his supposed fans.
I think it’s adorable and just like Rob. Too funny. I don’t tweet either, so I don’t see what the big deal is. Love you Rob. 🙂

I got far too excited when I first saw this. I had a geniune fangirl moment, which I don’t have very often! I don’t think ANYONE should be complaining. It’s twitter, he tweeted, it’s ROB FRIKKIN PATTINSON. He could have put ‘Hey’ and I would have been happy. Well, you know what I mean. Hehe. Just grateful he did it all, and *no offence* that we didn’t have to settle for Taylor. Team Rob! 🙂

Mmm I think the problem is that Peter build it up, all the tease that he would get Rob and Taylor, and then we saw he got Rob and he said those two senteces… which I have to ask, seriously, what were we expecting he would say??.. this is twitter not the Larry King show… hahahaa … also, this is the guy that said at the MTV MA “I think there is a bit coming out of my pants” trying to express he was nervous about the entire thing; so yeah it was not the brightest tweet but it was cute: “my dad made me do it” hehe
And someone commented that it is good that Rob doesn´t have twitter, like many other celebs or it would make us see how boring he is… it is a good point and actually, Rob has said many times he is boring, so this is not surprise..
And someone please explain me after this.. what is the use of twitter? hahaha I´m still trying to figure it out, may be the reason I have no twitter.. the entire thing about commenting what one is doing or following other people, is kind of creepy… hahaha
Rob’s tweet sucked. All this build-up to get him to guest tweet on PFach’s twitter account and then he does that?! I think Taylor would have been better. Rob could have at least thanked everyone for following Peter, or for being fans of the show, or he could have taken the opportunity to tell off all the papps that are constantly hounding him. Poor use of the tweet time.
i feel bad for rob.he does something like tweet through PFach’s twitter and he gets bashed for it.now, i really wish PFach just got Taylor(even though i am not taylor fan) to tweet so that there would be no Rob bashing.i bet if Rob said thank you to fans in twitter,other fans would say he is now so hollywood because saying thank you is so typical hollywood stereotype.

I am sorry but how can this be a disappointment? I do not get it, what did ppl expect really from Rob on this tweet? A novel? A conversation, a debunking of some stupdid rumor?
What would you guys have done if you were on a network that has literally stripped you from any chance of privacy, wherever Rob goes and a fan sees it or even paps it’s being tweeted about! Also as a shy person what would you write if you knew that almost a million faceless followers would read it, on the spur of the moment etc.? I doubt I would be able to be writing anything exciting hehe.
