Over the past few days, due to me making the Remember Me trailer, I’ve been getting this question asked over and over again. What is Remember Me about? Many of you don’t really know, as Summit has released little to no information on the movie as of yet. So here’s what we have so far:

From Summit’s site:

From IMDB:

Plot:

A drama centered on two lovers whose newfound relationship is threatened as they try to cope with their respective family tragedies.

The movie poster is this oneremember.me.title.treatment

Tell you alot doesn’t it? Not… Lucky for you (and me) Patti made up an unofficial Remember Me site (Which I’ve been pimping non-stop for the past day and a half) which you can find here. There’s alot of info on her site regarding the movie. You can also follow her on Twitter here.

Here’s a snippet from her site:

Remember Me FAQs:

There are some very slight spoilers at the end here, but nothing that hasn’t been discussed in Summit’s press releases and it is nothing that is really too plot related.

1. Is this movie based on a book?
No. It is based on a orginial screenplay by Will Fetters that was reworked by Jenny Lumet. It has nothing to do with a novel by Sophie Kinsella, Melvyn Bragg, or Nicholas Sparks.

2. When will this film be released?
It is scheduled to be released on February 12, 2010 in the US.

3. What will it be rated?
It isn’t know yet, but based on some of the language and sexuality in the script, it is suspected it will be given an R rating in the US. As soon as it is known, it will be posted.

4. Are Rob/Pierce/Emilie using their native or American accents?
Rob has mentioned in interviews that he will be using an American accent in this movie. The surname for the character was supposedly changed from Roth to Hawkins, and some people speculate that this may have enabled Pierce to use his native accent, but it is not known for certain.

5. Do you know where they are filming and when does the filming end?
Filming took place in the New York City area, but most, if not all of the filming has been completed. Some of the principle actors have already finished, including Rob, who is currently in Vancouver on the set of Eclipse.
***Edit 8/26 Film is now in Post Production

6. What has changed from the original script?
Based in information gleaned from Summit’s press releases, it is known that Michael’s death has been changed to a suicide. And as a child, Ally witnessed her mother’s murder. Other than that, it has been stated that most of the changes were dialog based.

Did that help you guys out a bit? Feel free to ask questions in the comments and we’ll answer as much as we can. Please don’t post spoilers if you’ve read the leaked scripts.

And finally, you guys can also watch the trailer I made. There are no major spoilers or plotlines, but there are quotes from the scripts.

  2. LOVING the Unofficial Remember Me site! I learned so much over there! Patti, you rock my socks!

  3. I´m more anxious to see this movie that NM, I read the original script and loved it, I can only imagine that Jenny Lumet did a good job with the changes. I´m also very happy with the casting, it has amazing actors, Chris Cooper, Lena Olin and Brosnan; asfor Emilie, she is always convincing in the roles she playes, a very good actress, I´m sure she will do a great job with Rob.

Congrats for the trailer, it is very well done!!

  4. Love the site….I love the new trailer you did…

It’s funny, people want to know what it’s about, but they don’t want to know the spoilers….

It’s an awesome, tender, funny, touching gut wrenching story, and ROB is perfect as Tyler…

    • I read the script a while ago and I agree with everything you said. It’s so hard to discuss this movie without giving the story away, so I usually don’t comment about it. I will shut up now, lol.

  5. I am psyched to see this movie but am puzzled by the script change which has Rob’s character (“Tyler”)’s brother dying by suicide. Without saying anything specific about the ending, it seems that it loses a lot by changing this and I am disappointed. When I read the script I was stunned by the ending … this seems more like ending with a whimper than a bang.

    • Exactly what I was thinking when I read about the script change on the unofficial Remember Me site yesterday. Totally changes the impact of the story. Bad call. Unless they are leading us astray…

      • Yeah I think that might be the case.

      • Not leading anyone astray. DUe to some specific details of the original plot making the concept pretty unfeasible, changes were made. If you read the script you know what I am talking about. If not, trust me, this was a good change.

I think the whole story will still have a profound effect. Hang in there!

        Deanna

        • I did read the script and it definitely had a profound effect on me. Just ask FP – I was emailing her after every few pages. So I honestly don’t know what made it unfeasible to keep the original story. I’m really not trying to be a jerk here. I just know how the story affected me when I was done and I can’t imagine it being different. Maybe I’m wrong. No matter what I know exactly how I will feel when I see this movie.

I understand that on this thread we can’t discuss any spoilers, so I will just leave it at that.

  6. That’s funny, because I wrote that FAQ, and Patti swiped it from the IMDB board. LOL!! Come out and join us there sometime. We have lots of discussions going on, including an attempt at describing the film without spoilers!

  7. I cant wait for this movie to come out… i just hope its not as hard to access as Robs other projects have been in the past!! I love his work and its frustrating to not be able to access it all especially since I live in a very small town!! I saw many of the pics from this film and it looks interesting… I almost cried when I saw some of the pics of Rob, Im sure you know the ones I am referring to, so I think this movie may be a real tearjerker… Thanks for posting the links for the unofficial site and her twitter!! Great fanmade Trailer!!♥

  8. I know that no one really wants to disclose the ending of this movie or any spoilers, but I am dying here. Can someone please e-mail me what this movie is all about…spoilers and all. I have not read the script or been able to find it for that matter. I really want to go see this movie, but I am pregnant and very emotional!! I think I would really like a heads up about this before hand. Thanks
