I was disappointed.” – Robert Pattinson

His acting is good in it!” It’s ridiculous! It’s what makes you understand how the critical mind of some people work.” – Robert Pattinson

I was trying to learn how to surf – So I looked like an idiot, you can’t even imagine -, when I thought I had seen paps, trying to hide behind rocks. When I got the confirmation, my body acted on impulse & I ran in their direction. But in the middle of my run, I started asking myself what I would do once I was in front of those guys. I wasn’t afraid of being beaten up, what you would be scared of in those kind of situations, but I was scared of ending up in court if I hit one of them. Fortunately, Those paps were such cowards that they left immediately. I have no idea what would have happened if they had not left.” -Robert Pattinson

  1. thanks so much for all your effort; it’s like a life-line of sorts! about what the producers & backers did to “bel ami”: i can only suppose that if I am this irritated and crushed over the lack of support the “money” people gave this film, i don’t doubt rob wants to bang his head against the wall..i never hear in interviews (the precious few) any of the actors involved speak up about the shoddy handling of it all..i mean, all of these actors are known, but not all of them offered any support themselves for it in word or deed;ms. thurman and ms. scott-thomas didn’t even bother to show up for the premiere.
i do think that rob should listen more to his advisor/agent, because it seems it was a combination of naivete and assumption that made this seem like a good bet for him..makes me wonder if his agent had rob’s financial advisors check through the fine any case, why is NOTHING said about this mess? as it is, i am never going to get to see this on the big screen, and yes–it matters! as a supporter i understand that it’s unfailing support at the BO that keeps him bankable and when we grasp this, the enormity of how this movie was handled rears its giant head.
i normally buy copies of rob’s movies for my different family members as special gifts, but, in this instance–the rating and visual matter–my hands are tied, so i had hoped to support it at the theater.
okay, so we can, as robnation, vote for him for popular awards, etc., but it seems that we, in this instance, needed a guiding voice as to what we could actually do, as the reality became obvious, to have a united vocal expression properly aimed and directed so we could wield some clout on his behalf.
there are how many of us? surely, with these numbers, if we had that unity of purpose, people all over the world would know that we stand behind our man, in real ways that make a difference!
thanks for letting me voice this residual frustration over the good i wanted to do, but couldn’t figure out HOW!

    • I agree with you 150%, and it looks like this is also going to happen to Cosmopolis in the US. Cosmopolis is scheduled for limited release, which means , I guess, that it will play only in the biggest cities. I live in a “small” town of 265,000 residents. We did not get Bel Ami in our theaters, and I guess we will not get Cosmopolis, either. This makes me furious. The only city in Ga that had Bel Ami was Atlanta, which is very hard for a senior citizen like me to get to. Thank God for On Demand . How can we influence the distributor to have a big release? I love seeing Rob on the big screen. Thanks for any suggestions.
